Stage Three
Term One

Students are provided with a weekly spelling list every Monday. Spelling lists are based upon six areas including high frequency,
spelling rules, etymological, compound and theme/extension words (maximum 30 words).
Students complete Spelling Board activities where each activity is worth different amounts of points. Each Monday, students write
out their words and glue their checklists into their books. Students aim to achieve 30 points by the end of the week. Assessment
of spelling words will occur every Friday. Once students have achieved 100% accuracy for 3 weeks, they move up a level.

Texts include oral, aural, written, visual, electronic and multimodal texts.
