WALK-IN-INTERVIEW
DIVISION OF MICROBIOLOGY

A walk in interview for filling up the temporary position of Post Doctoral Fellow (1 post) in
Institute project on ‘Bioprospecting of microorganisms for sustainable production of second
generation liquid biofuels’ will be held on 4.5.2010 at 10.00 AM in Room No. |, Division of
Microbiology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi-110012 (Tel No. 011-25847649).
The position is available to conduct research on the use of microalgae as source of Biofuels.
Responsibilities and duties include maintaining microalgal (cyanobacterial and other microalgae)
cultures; design and execution of experiments; data management; facilitating lab operations.
Essential Qualifications: Ph.D. in Botany/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Life Sciences (with
specialization in algae).
Desirable Qualifications: Strong demonstrated background in biochemical techniques, algal
taxonomy, interest in biotechnological interventions using microalgae, excellent oral and written
communication skills, knowledge of computer and bioinformatics tools.
Remuneration: Rs. 18,000/-(consolidated) per month +HRA as applicable.
Terms and Conditions:
1. AGE: The upper age limit is 35 years; relaxable to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex.-Serviceman as per the
Govt. of India instructions.
No objection and experience certificate from the employer in case he/she is in employment
The period of engagement of Post Doctoral Fellows will be initially for a period of | year
which may be extendable up to the XIth Plan Period i.e. upto 31.03.2012. There is no provision
of re-engagement.
4. Position is purely time bound, non-regular and on co-terminous basis with the XIth Plan. The
selected candidate shall have no legal right to claim regularization by absorption or otherwise
against any regular posts or any further contractual engagement on termination of the XIth Plan
in the Institute.
5. Candidates may appear for interview with bio-data, photographs and original testimonials.
. Candidates reaching after the specified timing will not be entertained.

and binding in all respects.
8. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
