Problem/Question:
Is Windex better than a vinegar and water solution, to
clean mirrors?

Hypothesis:
Windex will work better than a vinegar and water
solution.

Materials:

2 tbl Vinegar
Measuring Cup
2 cups filtered
Measuring
10 drops

Water
Spoon
essential oil
Windex

Empty Spray Bottle

Microfiber Towel

Procedure:

(I used lavender oil)

Mix 2 cups filtered water, with 2 tablespoons

vinegar in empty spray bottle
Add 10 drops essential oil (to cover the vinegar
smell)
Shake well
Spray solution onto mirror or glass, and wipe with cloth

Results/DATA:
After

1st Test Dining Room Mirrors:

Seemed to clean the same. Both

streak free.
Left Side: Windex

Wipes and cleans easily. Not a lot of physical work.

Right Side: Vinegar/Water Solution

Wipes and cleans with a bit more elbow grease.

2nd Test Entryway Mirrors:

Seemed to clean the same. Both streak free.

After

Before

Top: Vinegar/Water Solution Wipes and cleans easily. Not a lot of physical work.

Bottom: Windex Wipes and cleans easily. Not a lot of physical work.

Closet Mirrors:

3rd Test

Harder to remove residue with the vinegar/water solution.

After
Left Doors: Windex Wipes and cleans easily. Not a lot of physical work.
Right Doors: Vinegar/Water Solution

Had to go over the mirrors many more times to get them clean.

Conclusion:
Both products clean the mirrors, but Windex did the job
much easier.

The vinegar and water solution took more work and

effort to attain the same shine.
It took more time wiping, to get the same result as the
Windex.
What if the solution of vinegar and water was more
concentrated, or had more vinegar?
