Artifact Description: Your Classroom- Use drawing tools to create a
birds-eye view of a typical classroom
What You Learned: Creating a classroom layout is not easy,
especially when drawing it line by line. After I got some parts
constructed, I learned that it is much easier and very necessary to use
copy and paste. I enjoyed imagining what my own classroom could
look like, but it was difficult to incorporate the things that the
classroom should have based on the grade level. I made a list of the
appropriate things my classroom should have and the shapes they
should be. That made the construction of the classroom on the
computer much easier.
Educational Technology Standards for Teachers Addressed:
Standard #3: Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes
representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital
society.
Application of Skills Learned for the Future: The birds eye view
model classroom created in this project could be very useful for not
only the teacher, but also a principal or substitute teacher to view. It
can give an outsider insight into how the classroom is laid out. It would
also be very useful for seating charts. The skills used for this project
could be applied to creating other models like a simple map or birds
eye view of the school.
