Rocky Point Engineering is a highly successful mechanical engineering firm seeking qualified

Mechanical Engineering Technologist grads with an interest in pursuing a career in planning and
designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems for a wide variety of commercial and
institutional projects. Exposure to energy efficient design, LEED and Energy Modelling will also be
a part of your daily routine. We are looking for the right candidates to fill positions in our Langley
office.
Responsibilities:
o Prepare drawings and specifications for permit, tender and construction of mechanical and
plumbing systems under the direction of a senior project manager.
o Work as part of a team to consult and coordinate with architect, other consultants, building
officials and client to determine HVAC, plumbing and fire protection requirements.
o Incorporate principles of LEED and energy efficiency into mechanical design and assist the
client in understanding these design goals.
o Provide preliminary energy modelling design input.
o Participate in the quality control process to ensure design documents are reviewed prior to
permit and tender.
o Manage projects during design and resolve conflicts if they arise.
Qualifications:
o Keen interest in the building engineering industry
o Registered ASTT BC
o AutoCAD and/or REVIT experience
o Trace/HAP/DOE/EQuest Modeling Experience
o Excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities across multiple projects coupled with
excellent communication and client relationship building skills.
o Working knowledge of building codes, design specifications and construction administration
o Keen interest in sustainable design including LEED certification process
