Executive Board Roles

President
The President is responsible for overseeing all meetings, activities, etc. done by the organization. You will be
the spokesperson for the organization. You must be organized and have the desire to be there. You will be the
energizer for this organization; the more effort you put in, the more effort your executive board members and
general members will put in. Also keep in mind that being president is not equivalent to doing everything you
must be willing to delegate tasks and rely on other members of the organization.
Vice President
The Vice President is responsible for assisting the President during meetings and events. You will also be an
energizer for the organization.
Secretary

TheSecretaryisresponsiblefortakingnotesduringmeetingsandrecordingattendance.Youwill
alsoresponsibleforsendingoutemailstomembersaboutmeetingreminders,importantevents,etc.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for managing all of the organizations finances. You will be in charge of managing
semester dues, fundraising ideas and implementation, and funding for events. You must be organized and
fiscally responsible to be successful in this position.
Public Relations Chair
The PR Chair is responsible for the communications to the general public. You are responsible for how our
members and the USC community views ABJ. This will be your practice for becoming a PR professional and
learning how to communicate effectively. This includes but is not limited to:
Creating a PR team
Creating fliers for general meetings and special events
Contacting individuals who will be visiting the meetings
Working with the Special Events Chair to plan events
Managing the Twitter and Instagram accounts
Events Chair
The Events Chair is responsible for organizing events such as the Young Alumni Panel, Bingo Night, Movie
Night, etc. You will have a team of members to help you, but you will be the primary point of contact for event.
This entails coming up with precise plans for the location, the people who will be attending, and the times
they'll take place. This is an awesome position for those interested in Event Planning and Organizing.

Community Service Chair

The Community Service Chair is responsible for planning community outreach opportunities for the
organization. These community service events will be for members and the USC community alike. This
includes but is not limited to:
Finding two opportunities per semester for the organization to participate in
Heading the annual Relay for Life Team as the Team Captain
Contacting members about other service opportunities in Columbia
