We pray that the Grand Architect of the Universe has continued to bless you and your families during the course of 2015. Our Country and United Supreme Council has been blessed to continue on strong, even through the hard times. We are proud to have just hosted our 129" Annual Session, in Memphis, TN. Admittedly, we were forced to face some of the most trying and pressing issues this United Supreme Council has ever seen, From the theft and embezzlement of United Supreme Council funds to the attempted assassination of our membership and United Supreme Council’s character, we faced the hard issues head on and worked to reconcile every matter that came before us. ‘The meeting forced our Active members to come together to unify our United Supreme Council for the purpose of addressing our internal issues. As a result of our discussions, our collective decision led to the implementation of strict adherence to standardized business practices, reliable managementoversight of staff and the execution of strict financial auditing and transparency. As a result, we are still alive and well! Historical Dark Days ‘The beautiful history of this United Supreme Council did have her darker days. Almost 120 years ago, in 1895, an election was held in Washington, DC, as Sovereign Grand Commander Thorton A. Jackson, 33°, ran in an election against, Lieutenant Grand Commander John G. Jones, 33°. The results of the election were in favor of SGC Jackson, with SGIG John G. Jones being elected as Grand Chancellor. Angered by the outcome of the election, Jones and a few others met at the home of Dorsey Seville and illegally elevated men as Honorary Grand Inspectors General and organized a clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council. Within the week, Jones, being a brilliant businessman and attorney rushed to incorporate their Supreme Council, by taking the name of SGC Thornton A. Jackson’s United Supreme Council, which was designated, United Supreme Council,Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Southem & Western Jurisdiction. ‘This move allowed them to hhave the name legally, but not with Masonic Regularity, to act as a legitimate Supreme Council. History Repeats Itself True to life, the old adage, “History repeats itself” has come true. Almost 120 years to the day, the United Supreme Council, Souther Jurisdiction has witnessed the “Ghost of John G. Jones”, rear its head, once again. On October 10, 2015, the Active Members of the United Supreme Couneil met in our Senatorial Chambers and held the election for all seats. As a result, Grand Chancellor Ralph Slaughter, 33° was nominated for the station of Sovereign Grand Commander; sitting Sovereign Grand Commander Deary Vaughn, 33° was also nominated. The outcome of the election saw SGC Vaughn being reelected with a ballot of 21 votes for SGIG Vaughn and 18 votes for SGIG Slaughter. Later in the meeting, SGIG Slaughter would be bestowed with the title Grand Chancellor — Emeritus. Grand Minister of State Alvin K. “A-K.” Wilkins, 33° was nominated for Lieutenant Grand Commander and was defeated by Lieutenant Grand Commander, Wilbert M. Cur Minister of State Alvin K. “A.K.” Wilkins, 33° was later nominated for Grand N was again defeated by Assistant Grand Auditor-General Corey D. Hawkins, Esq., 33°. SGIG Wilkins would be bestowed with the title Grand Minister of State — Emeritus. Grand Attormey-General Joseph A. Williams, Esq., 33° was solely nominated and elected again to the station of Grand Attorney-General, which he ultimately declined due to family obligation and travel. SGIG Williams would later be bestowed with the title Grand Attomney- General — Emeritus. Disappointment rang out the following day as SGIGs Slaughter, Wilkins and Williams all left and did not participate in the remainder of the United Supreme Council’s Executive Sessions that were vital towards the input of the management and future business practices of the United Supreme Council. Almost 120 years to the date of the formation of the John G. Jones clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council, SGIGs Slaughter, Wilkins and Williams all conspired towards the creation of a clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council, utilizing John G. Jones” tactic of incorporating under the District of Columbia, utilizing the corporate name of our revoked United Supreme Council on October 14, 2015, by altering the name (a prior error which omitted the ‘term, “Southern Jurisdiction.” On October 19, 2015, as Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons of Louisiana, MWGM Ralph Slaughter, withdrew recognition from the Southem Jurisdiction, Shortly thereafter, on October 30, 2015, MWGM Ralph Slaughter recognized his clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council, which was deceptivelynamed, United Supreme Council for the 33 Degree of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, Prince Hall Affiliated. Masonic Precedence John G. Jones will forever be known as the “Father of Clandestine/Bogus Freemasonry” in America. With the advent of the clandestine, spurious and bogus Jones United Supreme Council in 1895, almost every Prince Hall Grand Lodge and both United Supreme Councils have had to deal with the consequences of John G. Jones, clandestine acts. To deal with the clandestine, spurious and bogus acts of the Jones United Supreme Council, Masonic precedence was set on August 6, 1896, by Most Worshipful Grand Master Hamilton S. ‘Smith of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge Free & Accepted Masons for the District of Columbia (predecessor of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia) in an Edict that was later ratified which stated the following: “The organization brought into existence by said Jones and Seville, even if regular, could have no legal Masonic status in this jurisdiction, as the territory had been occupied for thirty-nine years before this irregular and fungus organization sprung into existence.” The birth of Slaughter’s clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council, mirrors the duplicitous tactics of John G. Jones that it is blatant, We know via our history that Jones only started his United Supreme Council based on the loss of his election. Meanwhile, if we fast- forward to today, the Slaughter’s United Supreme Council was created in like fashion, after SGIGs Slaughter and Wilkins’ loss. If we again allow history to be our guide, Most Worshipful Grand Master Hamilton S. ‘Smith said it best, in 1896: “This illegitimate off-spring, presided over by said Jones and Seville, is clandestine, irregular and without any Masonic standing, It was conceived as a result of disappointment, and brought forth in a spirit of revenge, and like the wounded serpent, is wriggling in the throes of death.” Its truly deplorable that Scottish Rite Freemasonry, much more Ancient Craft Prince Hall Freemasonry is being plagued with the idea of clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council, created by former Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, that a reality must be faced. As each sovereign Grand Lodge goes about its daily business, it has within its Jurisdiction, certain clandestine, spurious and bogus Masonic bi to deal with. With this new body created by a Grand Master (Conservator) of Ancient Craft Masonry, we will only see more crooks, swindlers and Masonic pretenders be emboldened to create more of these bodies, further impacting that reputation of Freemasonry within our borders.Past Grand Master and Past Sovereign Grand Commander John G. Lewis, Jr. of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Louisiana and Past Grand Master and SGIG Amos T. Hall spent many years and money collected by the Prince Hall Masonic Family to fight the scourge of clandestine, spurious and bogus Freemasonry. Their legacy is defiled and the bedrock of An Craft Masonry and the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite will forever be sullied if this clandestine body is allowed to flourish in the many Prince Hall jurisdictions across America. Jurisprudence ‘As for the Sovereign Grand Inspectors General whom are members or considering membership within the clandestine, spurious and bogus Slaughter United Supreme Council, the ‘mere participation in this body would effectively serve as a resignation of your status as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General. Since their obligation to the United Supreme Council states they will recognize no other body they, in fact, break their obligation and forfeit their membership and status as a SGIG or GIG in this United Supreme Council. ‘As explained in the Constitution & General Regulation of the United Supreme Council, 33°, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Prince Hall Affiliation, Southern Jurisdiction, USA., Article VI, Section 3, Membership: “Active Members shall hold their title ad vitam unless they resign or be reclassified or removed for cause as provided in the Constitution & General Regulations.” Meanwhile, the United Supreme Council will work directly with all of our Fraters and Grand Lodges to answer any questions that may be looming in the interim. There is a delicate balance that must be maintained relating to the relationship of the Scottish Rite within a Grand Lodge’s jurisdiction. The United Supreme Council and its Council of Administration (comprised of Conservators of Ancient Craft Masonry) respects Ancient Craft Masonry’s hold on the predecessor degrees and would never attempt to infringe upon that Immovable Landmark. Urgent caution has to be maintained even by the many Prince Hall Grand Lodges, as this form of argument purported by the false-pretenders creates an un-Masonic argument for clandestine Masonic thinkers, as shown below: 1. XYZ Grand Lodge has internal strife, the Grand Lodge meets to hear the assertions, XYZ Grand Lodge meets and a vote is held for leadership by the voting membership of XYZ. Grand Lodge, the disgruntled and Officers that weren't re-elected, Past Masters with subordinate lodges meet clandestinely and conspire to form a new Grand Lodge. The Lodges and Past Masters form a new Grand Lodge, make the muddied — internal conflicts, public as a means of justification of the said new Grand Lodge and form a new Grand Lodge seeking Amity and Recognition from the other Regular Grand Lodges and United Supreme Councils.) a, The act is an invasion of territory;‘The members are guilty of un-Masonic conduct; ‘Members break their obligation to Freemasonry; ‘The act is clandestine in nature; The act disturbs Peace & Harmony within the territory and Prince Hall Freemasonry. eaos 2. The Active Members met with the express purpose of forming a new Supreme Council based on the John G. Jones Supreme Council. a. The JGJ Supreme Council was made because of a lost election, as an act of revenge; 'b. The Active Members actions are un-Masonic because: i, The Scottish Rite Mason breaks his Oath of Fealty to the USC that bestowed his rights as a Scottish Rite Maso fi, ‘The SGIG forfeits his title by participating in the formation of a new USC in a Clandestine fashion, without the knowledge, authority and/or permission of ‘the parent United Supreme Council; and, iii. It breaks Article V of the formation Clause of the United Supreme Council which essentially severs the tie of lineage to this United Supreme Council, negating the clandestine, spurious and bogus Slaughter United Supreme Council’s claim to lineage. c. It validates the actions of Clandestine Masons (ider I to John G, Jones) currently plaguing all forms of Regular Freemasonry (Ancient Craft and Scottish Rite) domestically and globally. 3. An erroneous argument of Alpha Kappa Alpha members left and founded Delta Sigma Theta. a. This is Freemasonry! What the United Supreme Council will do is protect the welfare of its membership from being caught in the web of a plot of revenge! USC Standing of Associated Conspirator(s) The United Supreme Council is truly disappointed! All those Sovereign Grand Inspector(s) General and Grand Inspector(s) General that countenance the clandes Slaughter United Supreme Council upon proof of their involvement will be immediately suspended, pending charges and trial and upon findings that the charges are true, will face sentencing consistent with the Constitution and Statues of the USC. Participation or engaging in Scottish Rite Masonic intercourse by any Orient, Frater or subordinate body of this United Supreme Council with any organization or member of the clandestine, spurious and bogus Slaughter United Supreme Council shall invoke any and all of the rules of the USC for addressing any such behavior. Moving Forward ur commitment is to keep you actively educated on the issues surrounding this new clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council; however, our greater goal is to ensure you that this United Supreme Council’s rich history and strong sense of Fraternity shall not be impacted.We will communicate with the Prince Hall Conference of Grand Masters and the United Supreme Council — Norther Jurisdiction to discuss any relationship that they may form with the clandestine, spurious and bogus Slaughter United Supreme Council. The Prince Hall Family cannot and should not allow the actions of anger from not being elected to destroy the 129-year history of this United Supreme Council History has shown us how John G. Jones tried to destroy this United Supreme Council, successfully destroyed the Shrine and from his actions has birthed approximately 3,700 clandestine, spurious and bogus-Masonic entities in the United States over a 120-year period. Now, we as Fraters, Prince Hall Masons and Conservators of Prince Hall Freemasonry must address and respond to this, the last ditch effort of Ralph Slaughter, whose leadership has impacted the relationship between Ancient Craft Masonry and the Prince Hall Shriners, broken Masonic protocol by accepting Prince Hall Masons without demits into his jurisdiction, created riffs between sister Prince Hall Grand Lodges and now seeks to create and lead a new clandestine, spurious and bogus United Supreme Council and top off all of this to destroy the rich history of this United Supreme Council As Fraters and Prince Hall Masons, we've faced some difficult times. We faced these difficulties head on, we did not waiver, we did not take the easy route, and we did not cut and run! ‘What we did not do was to run and create a new organization that would do more harm than good. History teaches us that when Grand Master John Wesley Dobbs lost his election in the Shrine, he had ample support nationally from Grand Masters and Grand Lodges across the nation to start a new Shrine; however, he stayed, served and supported the institution he loved! We, as the United Supreme Council, Fraters united and Prince Hall Masonic Family are here to stay! We are reforming and rebuilding this organization we hold true. This is the renaissance or “re-birth” of this United Supreme Council and it starts with each and every Frater in this Jurisdiction!
