Task Instructions
Glue in example in INB, left-side at top
Groups: Choose an area of Federal law:__________ write
as heading on left side of INB.
Pairs: Find provisions (sentences) in section 51 that refer
to the area of law you have chosen. 2 pairs per table: 1
pair reads pages 29-30 and one pair reads pages 31-32.
Write subheading in INB: Australian Constitution,
Section 51: Legislative powers of the Parliament
Underneath write (roman numeral), and relevant
sentence.
Create or research an example and display the different
roles of Parliament/Legislature, Executive and Judiciary

Groups discuss and choose an area of Federal law to
research
Pairs identify provisions (sentences) for that law in section
51 of constitution booklets
Groups research their chosen area of law using devices to
find an example of the roles of government. Students can
create a fictional example.
Students display their example in creative format on lefthand side of Notebook.
