Order of Operations. Simplify expressions. Fraction operations. Distributive Law.
Powers and Exponents. Graphing. Plotting points. Identify linear equations. Identify
the slope and y-intercept from a given linear equation. Determine linearity from a
data table using first differences. Determine if data follows a quadratic relationship
by checking second differences. Solve multi-step equations systematically.
3M.A1.1 Read, interpret, and clearly communicate the meaning of quadratic
graphs involving real-world applications.

3M.A1.7.1 Explain how the real roots of a quadratic equation relate to the intercepts
of the corresponding graph.
A1.7.2 Analyze the discriminant of the quadratic formula to determine the number
of real roots for quadratic equations.
3M.A1.8 Generate 10 quadratic equations by randomly selecting integer values for a, b,
and c in ax^2 + bx + c = 0. Solve the equations using the quadratic formula. How many of
the equations can you solve by factoring and how many by graphing?
3M.A2.1.1 Explain the meaning of a function.
3M.A2.1.2 Distinguish a function from a relation that is not a function, when
communicated in any of five ways (graph vertical line test; equation y= or
function notation f(x) =; mapping diagram; table of values; ordered pairs aka
coordinates). Justify your reasoning.
