Nandini Lives on

Ashes are flying in the air

It smells same when it burns
in Concentration Camp, or in Godhra
in Fallujah, or in Kashmir
in Chernobil, or in Bhopal
Ashes keep flying all over
creepily, silently, continuously
Ashes, all over the world
The flowers of Imperialism.

You thought it ended with Nagasaki !

with Vietnam, or with Laos, Cambodia
with Afghanistan, or with Iraq!
with Gujraat, or at least with Mau1
You believed, civilization is under control
by TADA, by POTA, by AFSPA!2
You thought, it tranquillised
with thousands of candles lit
beautifully designed, fashioned candles
made by burnt-out, left-out people
marketed by unthinking plastic-beauties
You
You
You
You
You

thought
believed
believed - You thought
thought, to believe
believed to think it ended

So, you get into Spiritualisation

Emancipation through procrastination
An easy solution
than procreation
than revolution
Close your eyes
take deep breath (in hygienic room of course!)
Dont see evil
Dont hear evil
DONT DARE to speak against evil
Close your eyes, all eyes
as many you may possibly have
and feel, and believe it ended

You believe
You think to believe

You love to think

You love to believe
World Wars ended
Cold War ended
After Cold War, now, its freeze war
Global warming is external
Global freezing is internal
Freezing intensely, profoundly, internally
Ideologies slogans processions Films songs poems rituals customs Languages expressions imaginations
Your senses are freezing
Your morals are freezing
Your semens are freezing
Its high cooling technology
Absolutely Silent Freezing
Sustainable, Reliable, Dependable, Futuristic

Every 5 minute a Rape occurs

near police headquarter,
or in Buddhas (oh! what an irony) garden
or in a flat or in a gali
wherever they choose or wish to
Every single minute a Rape occurs
in your brain, in your mind, in your eyes
unfulfilled, unattained, unaccomplished
Every day a girl infanticide takes place
in your backyard
but again you believe Barbarism ended

Your semens are freezing

Close your eyes! Awake Kundalini
Believe Barbarism ended
You think to believe
You love to believe

Every hour a terrorist is made or killed

Dont want to see?
Close your eyes, or
Zap the channel MTV, VTV, XTV, XXX TV
Keep freezing
They are freezing too
in a not so distant landscape
in your Gods own heaven on earth
shattered by quakes

by earth or by bofors
out of the shelter

they are freezing too

for a different reason
with a different reason
They also smiled, loved, hoped
They hoped, believed in your belief
Imperialism ended
Colonization ended
Communalism ended
Terrorism ended

What causes Terrorism anger or hunger?

What is Terrorism causing fear or hunger?
What stops Terrorism weapon or Revolution?
Oh! that bloody ten letter word!
Omnipotent than Ten Commandments!
The same old Phoenix!
The same spectre, still haunting the world!
You believed, it had died
You thought, it ended
You thought, to believe
You believed to think it ended.

Wow! Your kundalini has awaken!

Believe you are brave, you are heroic
you are the patriot, the gladiator
you are in the Armageddon
Shout out Allah-o-Akbar!
Shout louder Jai Shri Raam (or Har Har Mahadev)
Shout loudest Either you are with US or against US!
Fight the war, give it the name you want
Come back dead or alive
Still, you continue to believe
You think, ONLY to believe
Close your eyes and continue to believe
Imperialism ended, Fascism ended
Racism ended, Casteism ended
Communalism ended, Genocide ended
Close your eyes and continue to believe
Everything is fine, feel the relief.
While youre happy, enchanted
Sailing in a sphere of complacence;
I dared to open my eyes
I dared to venture into the reality
I dared to defy the dogmatism

I dared to break-free the virtual reality

And I see

Theres the young lady

diabolically tortured, bruised
moving ahead unwearied
with unabated valour in her eyes
invincible, non-compromised, determined.
She was, she is always there
in the REAL History
in the REMAINING History
in the Remaining HERstory.
She dissents, she protests So many died for what?
She groans,
its most painful, when I see the complacence
all around, as if
everything endedeverything achieved

She is Sita, she is Ahalya, She is Mandodari

She is Pritha, she is Draupadi, she is Gandhari
She is Irom Sharmila3, she is Minati4, She is
She is the soul, spirit, oxygen, love
of all who loved the world
lived for the world
She is love of Ranjan5
She is love of Hazaar Chaurasi6
She is Nandini.

Nandini cried, shouted, called on

in pre-independence with that bearded man
in 70s somewhere in the urban
She confronts the tyrant
You have the weapon, My weapon is death
She is omnipresent
in any form of revolution

I hear her in 4 AM Ranaghat or Bangaon7 local

I hear her in general ward of Govt. hospital
I see her everywhere,
in Chattisgarh, in Orissa
in Kashmir, in Manipur

in Sri Lanka, in Indonesia

You believe you can stop her immigration
You thought you froze her
in beautification or beatification

Again - You thought

You believed
You believed you thought
You thought to believe
You believed to think
- she ceased to exist
- she froze
- she stopped
- shes lost
I
I
I
I
I

feel
think
know
live
believe
Nandini never freezes
Nandini never dies
Even if she fails
Even if she is killed
Once,
Twice,
Thrice innumerable number of times.
