Dear Colleagues, let me greet each and every one of you!

I took office as Efes Georgia Sales Manager in May, 2008.

pany. This is reflected in our market share that has already

exceeded 60% in 2010. In order to achieve success, all of us
have to recognize company vision and goals, which, in my
tem of Efes Georgia.
Working in a brewery is very interesting. Sales represent
the final stage of a business cycle and the delivery of prodable, as the number of our consumers increases every day
and these achievements can be felt. You are satisfied and
proud when you participate in the process of attaining success. It should be noted that our work is adequately being
appreciated by the management.
Success is determined by the teamwork of employees,
as well as a sound competitive environment among them.
Both are available in the company. Promotion of employees
became a tradition. It is the most important for an employee
to have desire to exert his/her best efforts as in this case
success will be inevitable. As a rule, strength of the company
is determined by qualified personnel, whose further education and professional development are constantly cared upon
by the management. Training courses and workshops are
necessary for improving personnel qualification. This became
a rule in the company. Every month several employees of
Natakhtari attend training courses abroad. Here each of us

In addition to maintaining leadership position on the local
exports. Natakhtari lemonade has been exported to 13 countries this year. Along with an increase in exports, the number
of foreign markets where our products are exported should
increase as well. Potential markets have been already selected in the future our products may be sold to Iran and
Saudi Arabia. It is important that the export has a 30% share
in the total lemonade sales.
Moreover, we care for our consumers. Our objective is to

company is moving to a pre-sales system, which is going to
simplify relations with our partners.
Dear colleagues, wish you success and progress! Natakhtari is a leader of the Georgian beer market and this is our merit.

I think that the quality of produced goods

and consumer attitude towards the company are quite important. The current quality

which increases peoples confidence in us.

FOOTBALL WORLD CUP

SUPPORT PROVIDED BY NATAKHTARI
BEER WAS UNFORGETTABLE!!!
Company Natakhtari, as a company supporting football, was getting ready for the
world cup in a special manner. In order to encourage football fans, the company
launched a lottery, where along with many interesting prizes 2 travel packages to the
final game of the Football World Cup were raffled.
Attending the Football World Cup with Natakhtari Beer was Unforgettable, say
the luckiest winners of a promoting football lottery Make Your Wishes Come True
with Natakhtari - who won the Grand Prize, travel packages to the final game of the
Football World Cup. The travel package included transportation costs, a game ticket,
as well as Johannesburg city tour and accommodation expenses. Winners were also
provided with pocket money.
The tour included excursions to Kwalata Reserve, Soweto, Nelson Mandela and
Apartheid Museums.
Kwalata Game Reserve is one of the largest in the world with its richest wildlife.
One can find here a woodland antelope (Kudu), zebra, blue antelope, Bubale (a cow
like antelope), Antelope Kana, Water Goat, Antelope Pala, Ostrich, African Hog, African River Hog, Antelope Bushbuck.
Soweto is the most popular settlement of South Africa. The population has historically been overwhelmingly Black and some of the watershed events in the struggle
against Apartheid occurred there. Major places of interest are Nelson Mandelas Museum, Hector Pieterson Memorial and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, which is one
of the biggest hospitals in the world. Winners had the opportunity to watch the best
moments of the World Cup in a specially organized football village and celebrate the
Final Day.
When I won the grand prize of the lottery travel to the World Cup Final I
was shocked. Words cannot express the great joy I experienced! Natakhtari made
my dream come true, said Levan Sharvashidze, one of the winners, who could not
hide his emotions.
When I won the grand Prize I thought it was a dream, I could not believe, as
I had never won anything before. It was a different feeling, which can be compared to shock. Before arriving to South Africa I was still in euphoria. I experienced different emotions there. You can not get accidentally to South Africa. For
me it was a great gift I would never have imagined. The World Cup Final was
interesting of course, but I was impressed by the country itself and local culture.
I met local Georgians and saw the best places of the country. Many thanks to
Natakhtari, says Sopho Sekhniashvili, a lucky winner.

EPHESUS (EFES) ANCIENT CITY

Ephesus was an ancient Greek city, and later a major Roman city, on the west
coast of Asia Minor, near present-day Seluk, Izmir Province, Turkey. It was one of
the twelve cities of the Ionian League during the Classical Greek era. In the Roman
period, it was for many years the second largest city of the Roman Empire; ranking
behind Rome, the empires capital. Ephesus had a population of more than 250,000
in the 1st century BC, which also made it the second largest city in the world.
The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one
of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The temple was destroyed in 401 AD by
a mob led by St. John Chrysostom. Emperor Constantine I rebuilt much of the city
and erected new public baths. The town was again partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614 AD. The citys importance as a commercial center declined as the
harbor was slowly silted up by the Cayster River (Kk Menderes).
Ephesus was one of the seven churches of Asia that are cited in the Book of
Revelation. The Gospel of John may have been written here. It is also the site of a
large gladiators graveyard.
About beer Efes:
Where does the beer Efes name come from?
The name Efes was chosen by a competition. Erciyas Biracilik gave an advertisement to the newspapers announcing that they are looking for a Turkish name
for Pilsen beer that was produced by a 100 percent Turkish company. And the award
was 5000 lira. The finalist names were Efes, Kent and Topkapi. According to the
survey people liked Efes name and it was registered in 1969.
First brewery was opened in Istanbul in 1969 and than the second brewery was
in Izmir.

ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF ADVERTISING - GEORGIAN

PROJECT WHICH RECEIVED EQC APPRAISAL
EQC Project (Efes Quality Circle), which was launched in Turkey six years ago, turned out to be so successful that the number of
participating Efes factories increases every year. Having the form of
competition, EQC aims at motivating employees, improving working
conditions, detecting problems and finding ways of their resolution.
Every year groups consisting of 3-6 members are created. They
voluntarily get together in order to determine, analyze and solve workrelated problems. The group of employees defines the problem and
works on its resolution with EQC problem resolution methods, which
in their opinion is the most important. They unveil results in the form
of a presentation.
There are various criteria for presentation evaluation. Assessment depends on finding the best method for problem resolution,
presentation originality, its visual side, project expenditure and volume of savings. Members of EQC quality circle present results of
their work. Best project is selected by the Festival Jury. The winning
team will travel to the Annual EQC convention to present a project
along with the other winner teams of Efes Group.
Georgia got engaged in this project for the first time this year.
Four groups from our company, staffed with employees of HR, Marketing, Technical and Sales Departments were involved in the project.
Marketing Department Team won the competition with the project:
Alternative Methods of Advertising.
Winning teams of Efes breweries presented quite interesting
projects. I learned about their problems and ways of their resolution,
which may be introduced to our company in the future, said Nino
Datuashvili, Project Coordinator in Georgia.

WORLD'S LARGEST BEER FESTIVAL

- OKTOBERFEST IS 200 YEARS OLD
To Munich Oktoberfest is much more than just a festival.
Held in October it is sometimes called in Germany a folklore
festival, though in fact it represents a mix of beer festival, merry attractions and organized fairs with its opening ceremony
and final events.
Traditionally, this years festival started at the gate of the
town exactly at 12:00 and went through large and central
streets. The city mayor opened a beer cask, which was a symbolic sign of opening the festival the launch of the Beer
Marathon Oktoberfest. Celebrations ended at Theresienwiese.
Visitors from all over Europe dressed in national costumes
attended the festival. This grand beer festival lasts for 16 days.
It is annually observed by six million people.
Impressive statistics distinguished this years festival from
previous ones: 14 gigantic tents, which accommodated 10 thousand people and containers with 5.5 million liters of beer, were
put up. Moreover, major six German breweries joined efforts
to produce exclusive beer named Jubilaumswiesnbier for this
years festival. For this purpose they used a 2-century old recipe. This new beer had a dark color and its strength equaled
6%. This was the beer with the highest alcohol content at Oktoberfest, as the content of alcohol in presented 750 other types
of beer did not exceed 5 percent.
Oktoberfest started on September 18 and ended on October 3. This year, Munich celebrated 200-year anniversary of
Oktoberfest, which determined its peculiarity.

GIA NOKARISHVILI Courier

Ive been working in Natakhtari for six years. My working day is quite
busy, as I have to meet many people due to my work specifics. I work in a
company, but it is impossible to see me in the office. I spend the whole
working time on the road. This is even more interesting to me, I make my
observations around: I look at streets, buildings, people, nature, every
tree Later when I get back home, no matter how tired I am, I paint for an
hour. Every now and then I manage to create something valuable. Sometimes I put my feelings and ideas on paper in the form of sketches and
keep those for further processing.
Gia Nokarishvili by profession is an automobile engineer. He currently works as a Courier in Natakhtari. Gia is the talent of the company. Art,
once his hobby, turned into his second profession.
I have loved to paint ever since I was a child, though I have never
tried to work with oil colors. Eight years of unemployment forced me to
earn my living through painting. It is vxery difficult when you have to draw
only to earn your bread, said a self-taught artist.
Currently, Gia Nokarishvili paints though he does not think of selling
his paintings anymore. Each painting has its own addressee. He works in
Natakhtari colors, which he calls Dutch colors himself. He is already the
author of 200 works, however he does not think of organizing his personal
exhibition yet.

First International Camp of Young Researchers, Bakuriani

2010, ended in Premier Palace Hotel, Settlement of Bakuriani,
on August 1. The author and sponsor of the project was Company Natakhtari, while the event was organized by Young Researchers Support Fund. The purpose of organizing the camp
was professional growth of young people. It also aimed at
facilitating innovations, getting Georgian and foreign scientists
closer to each other, as well as exchanging information and
implementing joint scientific projects in the future.
We asked Mr. Alexander Gongadze, Chairman of the
Young Researchers Support Fund to evaluate the Project:
- Mr. Gongadze, who was the initiator of establishing
the Young Researchers Support Fund and what was the
objective of the First International Camp of Young Researchers?
- For the last 20 years number of students pursuing a bachelors and masters degrees in natural sciences has dramatically declined, which created deficit for professionals in the
respective fields. Last year we had 900 students, but this year
this figure declined catastrophically. It should be noted that the
indicators in Estonia and Armenia constituted 2.5 thousand and
4 thousand students respectively. In these countries the responsibility for the education of students of this category was
assumed by the state. A certain incentive was introduced in
our country as well. Those students who got enrolled in the
faculties of physics, mathematics or biology received 100%
financing from the government.
Under our initiative and support of Company Natakhtari,
Young Researchers Support Fund was established this year.
We undertook to draw students interest to natural sciences. It
turned out that there is a category of students who are interested in this field. They are not scared of difficulties and are eager
to become chemists, physicist, biologists, mathematicians We
need to protect them, keep them interested and give them future prospects. This was the goal of the event - First International Camp of Young Researchers in Georgia - organized in
Bakuriani. With Natakhtaris support we managed to make the
students aware of the real situation, problems inherent to these
fields and design ways for their solution. There were lectures
and seminars arranged. Lectures were delivered by leading
scientists who spend the most of their working time abroad in
the prestigious universities. They introduced to students modern trends in physics, mathematics and ecology. A significant
amount of time was allocated for discussions.
One of the interesting and important aspects of the camp
was participation of future colleagues of Georgian scientists,
and in our belief partners from Iran, Finland and Azerbaijan.
They shared their knowledge, experience, talked about problems, their resolution and perspectives. These were four different cultures, getting closer quite rapidly. At the final stage of
the camp young students developed a special declaration,
where they expressed their unanimity. They recognized that
natural sciences represent the foundation. They expressed desire to make the world aware of importance of their profession.

FIRST INTERNATIONAL
CAMP OF YOUNG
RESEARCHERS IN GEORGIA
Invention alone is not sufficient, it is to be implemented, which
requires use of modern technologies. Therefore, it is necessary to combine experience and new considerations.
- Will the Young Researchers Support Fund become a
tradition and will it be organized next year as well?

- , -

- This years camp made it obvious that similar meetings

. -

and sharing of experience are necessary. But we decided to

, -

make future meetings more thematic, pertaining to a specific

, , -

subject. We hope that students from Turkey, Ukraine, Bulgar-

, ,

ia, Romania will take part in this event and our initiative will

, -

acquire a larger scale. We will set goals and objectives and

. , -

send them to specific universities in these countries. They will

work on these topics during the whole year. Resolution of glo-

.
. . -

bal scientific problems by a single scientist is quite difficult.

Our intention is to make students used to teamwork from the
very early age. Problems can easily be resolved through join-

. , -

ing efforts. Well, in a nutshell, we are going to spend next year

again in Bakuriani with young scientists and with support of

Natakhtari.

ZURA KOPADZE, HEAD OF NATAKHTARI 2005

I have been cooperating with Natakhtari since the day it
was founded. Its distribution network in Tbilisi has been developed by our company Natakhtari 2005. I was involved in the
promotion of Natakhtari products and growing its share on the
market from the very beginning. When you start doing something from the initial stage and it becomes a part of your life,
you love it with all of your heart. I love Natakhtari.
Success of any enterprise is determined by produced
goods. Our market share in the country grows annually. Currently our products are popular and successful, which is the
result of 24-hour work.
We represent the largest distribution company across Tbilisi. Initially 25 employees worked in the company and its annual sales volume constituted 700 thousand liters. Currently we
employ 150 people, our sales increased respectively and have
exceeded 33 million liters a year.

Natakhtaris Marketing and Sales Department has

been engaged in the collection of waste paper for several
months. Although such a single attempt will not change
anything and according to our calculations we have not
saved even a tree yet, but the whole factory can save the
whole forest, say department representatives and they
talk frankly of problems.
Have you ever thought that half of dumpsite is represented by waste paper and food waste? Do not calm yourself by thoughts that this type of waste is biodegradable
and everything in the end will turn into humus. It should be
remembered that so called biodegradable waste gets
mixed with the other type of waste and water, gets pressed,
and created lack of oxygen interferes with a purification
process; mummified waste may be stored for centuries.
Prediction World Without Paper, which should have
resulted from the development of information technologies, did not come true. 95 percent of business information is still kept on paper. Every year 35 percent of world
timber harvest is sacrificed for paper production.
Each of us can change the world for better at least a
little bit save paper and keep the following in mind:
- think twice Before you start printing, print only those
documents, which are really needed!
- Try to use both sides of the sheet!
- Reduce the font size!
- CORRECT THE TEXT PRIOR TO PRINTING TO
THE MAXIMUM EXTENT!
And finally, paper recycling is one of the ways out.
Unfortunately major part of paper is not being recycled.
What is the solution? Using even half of produced paper
for the second time would save 90 thousand million square
meters of forest in the world per year.
Each ton of the recycled paper will save around 17
trees. Paper recycling requires consumption of much less
energy, water, fuel than primary processing of wood.
Recycled paper is used for the production of package
boxes, paper napkins, printing paper and many other
full-fledged products.
Therefore, recycle paper and use products made of it!

HOP REVOLUTION IN BEER PRODUCTION

popular drink in Old Babylon 6 8 thousand years ago.

Egyptians used to make different beer, which was

Currently hop is used in beer production. Moreover, it is one of the major ingredients, as it gives the
beer a special taste. Europeans have been using hop in
baking since 9th century.
The largest hop plantation is in the Unites States,
