Full text: A group of Windsor young people will go up to 30 hours without food on April 28 to raise money for impoverished children around the world. Participants in the World Vision 30 Hour Famine are expected to collect donations prior to the event and then spend most of their Saturday at Place Concorde where they can take part in games, activities, and education sessions - all while consuming only water and juice. The idea is that, for a short period of time, participants get to experience what it's like to "live the life" of an underprivileged child while raising awareness about global issues. The money raised goes to World Vision Canada, Canada's largest private relief and development agency, to fund programs that target poverty and help children and communities in need. "I've seen poverty right in front of my eyes and it really bothers me that there are children out there who don't have the same privileges we do," said participant Shaily Brahmbhatt, 15, who has lived in Kenya and India. World Vision says it is expecting 60,000 Canadian young people to participate.
