V. Reflective Response
A. Report of Student Performance in Terms of Stated Objectives (Reflection on
student performance written after lesson is taught, includes remediation for
students who fail to meet acceptable level of achievement)
For this lesson, I decided to hold a review day for the students so we could
recall our prior knowledge from second grade math. I stated my objective as
The third grade students will recall prior knowledge of money by correctly
solving money-related problems. This objective is the same from my first
lesson because they are still reviewing what the students already know about
money. During this lesson, the students were given a worksheet to complete
with a partner. This worksheet was worth 25 possible points and there were 21
students (one student was absent). Five students scored a 90% or above,
twelve students received an 80-89%, two students received a 70-79%, two
students received 60-69%, and one student received a 59% or below. The class
average for this formative worksheet was a 373/550 or a 68%. This average is
lower than the original pre-test grades which was surprising to me, but I am
hoping after learning the upcoming strategies the students will be able to bring
this class average up.
Remediation Plan
The remediation plan for this worksheet will be the following unit.
Throughout this unit I will be doing a variety of hands-on activities. These
activities will call for individual, partner, and group work.
B. Personal Reflection (Questions written before lesson is taught. Reflective
answers to question recorded after lesson is taught)
What could I do to improve my lesson for next time?
Smart Exchange ran a little too long, kids were getting antsy. Next time I would
have the kids just talk and write the math problems on my own.
How was I with time management?
I was okay on time. I could have used more time for the worksheet and calendar
was cut short.

What was one part of my lesson that went well?

I think the partner work went well, the kids were on task and working really well
together.
