ALLOY

Today Lesson
What is alloy?
Arrangement of atom in metal and

alloys.
List example and the aims of
making alloys.

Alloys
An alloy is a mixture with metallic properties

that contains at least one metal element.

This mixture can change the properties of

pure metal.

Pure Metal
Easy to shape (malleable)
Easy to bent (ductile)
Because,
The

arrangement of atom
It consists of the same size atom.
So, easy to slide down each other

Hard to ductile
Hard to malleable

1. For the following substances, which one is

not alloy?
A .Brass
C. Nickel

B. Bronze
D. Duralumin.

2. Alloy is more hard than pure metal because

A. The bonding between atom metal is hard.
B. The slide down between the atom layer is
less
C. The arrangement of atom is more regular
D. The atom was separately each other

3. For the following attribute which is not the

advantages of alloy?
A. More strength
B. Avoid the corrosion

D. Improve the aspect

4. What is the different element between

iron with it alloy, stainless steel?
A. Iron can avoid the corrosion
B. Iron is more ductile
