NEED A MUSIC DIRECTOR AS WELL AS REHEARSAL ACCOMPANIMENT?
Try my Music Director Services: $35 per rehearsal hour includes not only music direction in rehearsals,
but creation and use of piano rehearsal tracks (MP3s) with tempo clicks for both group and individual
rehearsal, delivered via email to the cast after they are created and introduced in rehearsals (assuming a
complete, clean piano/vocal and/or piano/conductor score has been delivered to me a minimum of 10
business days prior to the first scheduled music rehearsal). Rates for performance hours are $50 per hour
if I am conducting, $35 per hour if not. Payment for Music Director Services is divided into thirds, with
first payment due two weeks before opening night, second payment due opening night, and the final
payment due before curtain on the final night of performance. [Note: all rehearsal tracks are FX Protected
so they may not be used as performance tracks.]

business days before the first scheduled music rehearsal, piano only rehearsal tracks are created and made
available to your music director and cast as MP3s for both group and individual rehearsal, delivered via
email. Includes tempo changes, agreed upon cuts, pauses, digital counter tracking, mastering, and mixing.
A 10 business day turn around is required once the score is delivered. Rate is $25 per title, whether song,
overture, entr'acte, or incidental music. [Note: all rehearsal tracks are FX Protected so they may not be
used as performance tracks.]
CAN'T AFFORD A LIVE ORCHESTRA OR THE RENTAL FEE FOR ORCHESTRAL
ACCOMPANIMENT TRACKS (USUALLY $1000 OR MORE)?

Performance Accompaniment Track Creation/Rental (Separate from Music Director Services)
1) Piano only, generated from piano/vocal score provided you by the licensing company of the show.
Includes tempo changes, agreed upon cuts, pauses, digital counter tracking, mastering, and mixing. A
10 business day turn around is required once the complete, clean score is delivered. Rate is $25 per
title, whether song, overture, entr'acte, or incidental music. Delivery is guaranteed 5 days before
opening night if I have had the score a full 10 business days prior. Full rental payment is due the first
time the track is used. Note: Accompaniment tracks are available in CD FORMAT only and are
encrypted to discourage copying. The CDs must be returned in good condition the day after the show
closes.
2) Piano/Limited Instrument only, generated from piano/conductor score provided you by the licensing
company of the show. In addition to piano, from one to four instruments are selected at my discretion
to "sweeten" the accompaniment. Includes tempo changes, agreed upon cuts, pauses, digital counter
tracking, mastering, and mixing. A 15 business day turn around is required once complete, clean piano
conductor score is delivered. Rate is $35 per title, whether song, overture, entr'acte, or incidental
music. Delivery is guaranteed 5 days before opening night if I have had the score a full 15 business
days prior. Full rental payment is due the first time the track is used. Note: Accompaniment tracks are
available in CD FORMAT only and are encrypted to discourage copying. CDs must be returned in
good condition the day after the show closes.

3) Piano/Reduced Orchestra, generated from piano/conductor score and all orchestral parts provided
you by the licensing company of the show. At my discretion, up to 10 instruments are selected to not
only sweeten, but add a fuller and more professional accompaniment. Includes tempo changes, agreed
upon cuts, pauses, digital counter tracking, mastering, and mixing. A 20 business day turn around is
required once complete, clean scores are delivered. Rate is $45 per title, whether song, overture,
entr'acte, or incidental music. Delivery is guaranteed 5 days before opening night if I have had the
scores and parts a full 20 business days prior. Full rental payment is due the first time the track is used.
Note: Accompaniment tracks are available in CD FORMAT only and are encrypted to discourage
copying. CDs must be returned in good condition the day after the show closes.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES:
KEY CHANGES to lower or raise a track by up to two whole steps, available upon request. Quotes are
given separately from other services, then added to the total fee.
FX TRACKS for insertion into songs or dramatic dialogue. Quotes are given separately from other
services, then added to the total fee.
REDUCED/AMENDED ORCHESTRAL PARTS for live orchestra using orchestral, piano/conductor,
and piano/vocal scores supplied by the licensing company to the producing theatre. Quotes are given
separately from other services, then added to the total fee.
VOCAL REHEARSAL TRACKS for solo and/or chorus rehearsal with piano accompaniment and click
on stereo left and vocal part(s) using midi or sampled orchestral instruments on stereo right created from
piano/conductor, and/or piano/vocal scores supplied by the licensing company to the producing theatre.
Quotes are given on a per title basis and may be purchased either in total or individually. (Note: all
rehearsal tracks are FX Protected so they may not be used as performance tracks).
PERFORMANCE TRACK RENTAL: I am constantly building my library of affordable accompaniment
tracks. Inquire as to titles and rental availability.
Disclaimer: I use professional orchestral sampled software to create accompaniment tracks and
professional recording software to mix, master, and burn CDs or generate MP3s. Any lack of quality due
to faulty sound reinforcement or poor sound operator skills is the responsibility of the theatre and is
beyond my control.
PLEASE READ: All services provided are under a contract which must be signed by the party
responsible for paying for services and are offered only to organizations who have licensed the rights to
perform the show in question. I accept cash, check, or cashiers check only, made payable to JOHN RAY.
There is a $35 fee charged should a check be returned, and a 10% per week late fee for payments not
received in a timely manner.
