Course Description
This course sequence is designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings
and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into post-secondary programs that require
the study of calculus. Calculus is a very specific high level branch of mathematics that is
required for only a few programs in University and Colleges.
Topics include algebra and number; measurement; relations and functions; trigonometry;
and permutations, combinations and binomial theorem.
This course builds upon of concepts established in Math 10C and previous mathematics
courses. Math 20-1 assumes that you are proficient in math skills acquired in any previous
course. Math 20-1 is a fast paced course with challenging material. You are expected to put
in extra time at home to complete performance tasks, review and study for tests.
