(GCUF)

Kinase Enzyme
kinaseis anenzymethat catalyzes the transfer of phosphate groups
from high-energy, phosphate-donating molecules to specific substrates.

KINASE LINKED RECEPTORS

Kinase linked receptors are quite different n structures with
GPCRs . They are also called catalytic receptors.
There are two important domains of kinase linked receptors.
1) Extra cellular Domain / Ligand Binding Domain.
2) Intracellular Domain / enzymatic site.
3) Alpha-helix

DIAGRAM OF RECEPTOR

SIGNAL TRANSDUCTION

When an extra cellular signaling molecule binds with the receptor present on the
cell membrane , it triggers a biochemical reaction and as result of which cell
response is produced.

DIMERIZATION
Binding of two identical molecules is called dimerization . figure shows the ligand binding and
which results in dimerization of two receptors.

CLASSIFICATION OF KINASE LINKED

RECEPTORS
Kinase linked receptors are classified into two types on the basis of
1)

Residues attached to them.

2)

Ligands attached to them.

on the basis of residues attached, there are two examples

Tyrosine kinase linked receptors.

Given diagram shows that tyrosine residue got attached with the
intracellular domain of receptor and signals are produced. These
receptors are single chain of polypeptides.

Guanylase cyclase :
in atrial Nitro uretic factor, guanylate cyclase get attached with
the intra celluluar domain and signals are produced.

ON THE BASIS OF LIGANDS ATTACHED.

Growth factor:

This is a single polypeptide chain of 1000

residues as shown below:

INSULIN BINDING RECEPTOR:

In this type, extra cellular and intra cellular domains are linked by
di sulphide bond, and it is a polypeptide chain of 400-700 residues.

Transductions mechanism of kinase linked receptor.

1) RAS/RAF/MAP PATHWAY:
> involves in cell deferentiation /cell growth , cell reproduction etc.

JAK/STAT PATHWAY
> THIS pathways involves the inflammatory responses in the body.
