uniformly coefficient uniformity coefficient

Page 344: the water depth (on the sill) to read: the sill level relative to mean water level

Pages 613/614: Eq 5-176 and 5-177: the last terms should read +6.12 RP and + 7.3 RP
respectively

Page 615: a Note is missing; to be added:

NOTE: The stability of the rear-side of a berm breakwater is very important for its overall
stability. In the case of moderate to severe damage to the rear-side, the risk of total failure of
the crest and front side of a berm breakwater is very large. Van der Meer and Veldman (1992)
suggested using the following values for the overall design factor (see also PIANC, 2003a):
Rc 1 / 3
sop = 0.25
for start of damage
Hs
Rc 1 / 3
sop = 0.21
for moderate damage
Hs
Rc 1 / 3
sop = 0.17
for severe damage
Hs
where Rc is the crest freeboard (m) and sop is the fictitious wave steepness (-) based on the
peak wave period, Tp (s).
