Eye witness: Borijove Jevtic, one of the conspirators

It was a sunny morning and there was a reception that was going to occur
at the town hall later on that day. Ferdinand would be attending this reception.
Seven compositors stationed themselves in the route that Ferdinand would be
taken to the town hall. They were all there to do one job and that was to
assassinate Ferdinand. Ferdinands car was moving too fast for any of the
compositors to be able to do any damage to Ferdinand or his car. Except when
the car passed by where Gabrinovic was standing he threw a grenade at the car.
Ferdinand with an intelligent mind through himself against the side of the car and
was not injured. A few of the officers riding along Ferdinand were injured by the
explosion. Ferdinand arrived at the town hall. Him and his wife and enjoyed the
reception and now had to travel out of the city as fast as possible. They had no
clue what was coming their way. The car again was going too fast and there was
too big of a crowd for the first compositors to do anything. The car could go fast
enough to be untouched until one part that it would have to slow down for a turn.
This is where Princip had taken his stand. When the car reached the turn Princip
stepped out in front of the car causing the driver to brake. Princip then pulled out
his gun and fired two shots. The first hit Ferdinands wife directly in the abdomen
and she died instantly. The second hit Ferdinand close to the heart and with his
final breath he said the word Sophia, the name his wife and then died. The

officer then caught Princip and beat him, kicked him, scraped the skin off his
neck, and tortured him. They did everything except for kill him.
