course,itisusedtofacilitatelearningandfosteracademicsuccess.Theintentionisthatallofthese
elementscombinetofacilitateandproduceproductivemembersofsocietywhoallfindanappropriate

Reimers(1971)elementsofschooling,anychangeoccurringismovingatabureaucraticallyslow

teachercentredapproachtoalearnercentredapproachwherethestudentsactivitiesandneeds
arethefocus(p26).Thisapproachisadvocatingforstudentsandunderminingthetraditional
omnipotentauthorityoftheteacher.
Thecurriculumwelearntisalwayssubjecttochangesdependentattimesonthewhimofpoliticians
butalsoreflectschangedculturalattitudes,progressivevalues,obsoleteknowledgeandinclusionof
previouslyexcludedperspectives.Thepurposeofthecurriculumistoexplicitlyarticulatebroad
learningoutcomessothereisclarityonwhatexactlyisexpected,highexpectations,greater
opportunityforstudentsuccess(Ewing,2013,pp3132).Theintegrationofcurriculum,pedagogy
andassessmentlearningoutcomesoccurswhenthebroadcurriculumoutcomesarenarrowed
downtomorespecificonesinthelowerstepsoftransitionaloutcomes(Ibid).
