1 - How Trump threatened to split the party by running on the Independent platform

if he was not "treated fairly" by the Republican establishment.

2 - By acquiescing to Trumps threats, the GOP brass must have considered Trump
splitting the party and handing the election to the Democrats as the worst case
scenario.
3 - GOP brass misjudged the situation because Trump receiving the nomination still
results in handing the Democrats the white house but has the added humiliation of
letting a common GOP tactic such as fear mongering be used against them so
masterfully by Trump.
4- By allowing Trump to potentially get the nomination, the Republican party has
allowed a figure so divisive, so inflammatory, that Americans who would normally
skip voting because of an overall disinterest or disillusion with government, will
flock to the polls in record numbers to vote AGAINST a candidate more than for one.
5 - Trump loses general election in a landslide as issues relating to 1: His complete
lack of experience as a public official 2: His wanton disregard for the idea of equal
and mutual respect to every American as a countrymen and every human being as
a gentleman. 3: His grave potential for disaster as the representative of the United
States as a diplomat and world power; the balance between proceeding
diplomatically and leveraging our considerable economic and militaristic
advantages.
6 - Trump has created fertile ground for an unassuming senator from Vermont to rise
quickly and dramatically. Bernie Sanders is Anti-Trump in more than just his
opposition about policy. His demeanor, his life's work and stand against inequality,
prioritizing profits to extreme levels (mortgage bubble) and prohibitive higher
education. Senator Sanders was in the right place and the right time and I for one
am glad about it.
7 - Bernie Sanders surprises pundits and talking heads everywhere by snagging the
nomination and keeping America out of the hands of a woman who's ethics and
integrity are questionable at best.
8 - President Sanders recognizes that he can not implement most all of his
important proposals without congressional approval and proceeds genuinely work
towards compromises to impact real change.
9 - The die hard Trump supporters, Palin fans and run of the mill racists and bigots
will find themselves unhappy with the way the GOP rises from the ashes and
revamps the party to reflect more moderate values and branch off into a radical
"party" of their own.
10 - GOP and moderate conservatives especially will benefit in the long run by
Trump making a mockery of the party. A charismatic conservative somewhere will
emerge as the voice of reason, wrangling back together the splintered conservative
base while proposing a return to a party of responsible government spending and
reducing the size and scope of the government.
