There once was a wonderful star
Who thought she would go very far

She knew she would never go far.

Free Verse

How to write a free verse poem:

o

THERE ARE NO GUIDELINES!

Very simple to write, but yet very difficult because of the

freedom given to the writer

Be sure to use figurative language and sensory language to evoke

the emotion, the sound, and the feeling occurring in the poem
o

The words should sound like what they mean!!

Example:
Thrill Ride
Up. Up.
Click, click.
Wind blows
sharp in my ears.
My heart jumps. Skips.

Hands grasp at the clouds.

Then a forever pause. Still.
Waiting.
Finally. Whoosh!
Steep drop
down,
down,
down.
