INTRODUCTION:A museum introduces people to our

world by examining how we see, hear
and feel. Perception is the basis for what
each of us finds out about the world and
how we interpret it-whether we do it
directly with our eyes or use helpful
tools-FRANK OPPEHEIMER.
An art museum or art gallery is a building
or space for the exhibition of art,
usually visual art.
Museums can be public or private, but
what distinguishes a museum is the
ownership of a collection.
Paintings are the most commonly
displayed art
objects;however,sculpture,decorative
arts,
drawings,pastels,watercolors,collages,pri
nts,artists books,photographs,and artery
also shown.

CONTEMPERORY ARTGALLERY:-

The term contemporary art gallery refers

usually to a privately owned for-profit
commercial gallery. These galleries are
often found clustered together in large
urban centers. Smaller cities are usually
home to at least one gallery, but they
may also be found in towns or villages,
and remote areas where artists
congregate.

NEED FOR STUDY: This thesis intends to investigate how

new technology can support peoples
engagement in exhibitions.
Museums have developed from being
repositories of knowledge and objects to
having a multifaceted, outward looking
role as hosts who invite visitors inside to
wonder, encounter and learn.
Assuming the purpose of design is to
create novel knowledge mainly focusing
on arts

It also serves the artisans a new platform

to benefit them economically. Also
provides a place for them to exhibit skill
and exchange their views with each other
and along with the people who visit there.
The objective of study includes the
artisan settlements, their reflections on
space, and with the impact on creating a
rural environment in the present day
context.
