    COURTANDOFFICEHOURS
    1.
    AllJudgesshallsitinCourtduringthehoursprescribedbyparagraphs2and3for
    thedisposalofjudicialbusiness. Administrativeworkshallordinarilybedoneoutside
    Courthours,butifonanydaytheBoardbreaksdown(suchoccasionshouldberare),the
    JudgeshouldcontinuetoworkfortherestofthedayintheCourtpremisesandutilisethe
    timeinwritingjudgmentsandattendingtoadministrativematters.
    2.
    (i)IntheSmallCauseCourt,Bombay,andinCourtsintheDistrictsofAkola,
    Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Wardha, Yavatmal, Nandeed,
    Osmanabad,ParbhaniandDadraandNagarHaveli,SilvasatheCourthoursshallbefrom
    11a.m.to2p.m.andfrom3p.m.to5p.m.OnallCourtworkingSaturdays,theCourt
    hoursoftheSmallCausesCourt,Bombayshallbefrom11.00a.m.to2.00p.m.andfor
    urgentjudicialwork,twoJudgesshallworkupto5.00p.m.
    (ia) TheCourthoursofParbhaniDistrictshallbefrom11.30a.m.And3.00
    p.m.To5.00p.m.
    (ii)Inallotherdistricts,theCourthoursshallbefrom1130a.m.to230p.m.and
    from330to530p.m.
    (iii)TheofficehoursinallDistrictsintheStateofMaharashtraincludingthe
    CourtofSmallCausesatBombayandtheCourtsinDadraandNagarhaveli,Silvassa,
    shall be from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. with half an hour recess (excluding inferior
    GovernmentServants).
    (iv)SofarastheinferiorGovernmentServantsareconcerned,inallDistrictsand
    theCourtofSmallCauses,Bombay,theOfficehoursshallbefrom9.30a.m.to6.00p.m.

    (v)MuslimemployeesofGovernment,iftheyaskforpermissiontoleaveoffice
    tosaytheirJummaPrayers,shouldbeallowedtotaketheirlunchrecessonFridaysatthe
    timeconvenienttothem."

    TheDistrictJudgemay,withthepreviouspermissionoftheHighCourt,alterthe
    hoursprescribedbyparagraph2foranyCourtinhisDistrict,butsoasnottoreducethe
    totalnumberofworkinghoursintheweek.

    4.

    Ordinarily,alljudicialmattersshouldbedisposedofinopenCourt.

    5.
    PersonsattendingCourtsandevenwitnessestakingtheoathshouldbeallowedto
    keepontheirfootwear.
    Thepublicshouldhaveaccessto,orremainin,theroomorthebuildingusedbya
    Court,exceptwhenthePresidingJudgethinksitfitinanyparticularcase,toexclude
    eitherthepublicgenerallyoranyparticularperson. Thegroundsfordoingsoshould,
    however,berecordedintheRoznama.
    6.
    ThePresidingOfficerofCourtsareauthorisedtosuspendworkforabouthalfan
    hourortostandinsilenceforaminuteortwoafterasuitablereferencehasbeenmade
    whenaprominentlocallawyerpassesawayandwhenarequestforsuspensionofworkis
    madetotheCourt.
