The document summarizes a student's history fair project about the Hubble Space Telescope. The student chose the topic because of their interest in space and engineering. They researched the telescope using sources like NASA.gov and encyclopedia.org. The student created a website to present the project because they enjoyed making websites to inform people. Their project related to the theme of Exploration, Encounter, and Exchange because the telescope explores space, could encounter new planets, and findings are exchanged with other countries.

For my history fair project, I have chosen to do research on the Hubble
Space Telescope. I narrowed down my subject from my interests in space and the engineering that goes with it, because I have great interest in space and what is beyond what we know. I find the Hubble Telescope interesting because this special telescope finds new areas of space every day. My thesis statement follows: The exploration of the great universe by NASA with their space telescopes and other useful objects in space is a new way for finding new things to help humans live farther, learn about the universe that the High One created, and learn about what is out there to help us prepare for the future. I conducted my research from many different sources, all of them websites. I took them from sources like NASA.gov, encyclopedia.org, hubblesite.org, and Britannica Online. I cited these sources onto my NoodleTools account, and I put these sources on my website, pbf-spacExploration.weebly.com. I selected the website category to present my project and research. I chose this because over the past two years that I have participated in history fairs, I have chosen a documentary and a website, and I really enjoyed making the website. I enjoy making websites to inform the public on what they dont know, or adding information on what they already know. I have made multiple websites on weebly, and I am familiar with the set up. I find a website more interesting over a documentary, but both entail a lot of time and effort.
My project relates to the annual National History Day (NHD) theme,
Exploration, Encounter, and Exchange in history, for multiple reasons. My topic relates to Exploration, because that is what this orbiting device is made to do, explore space beyond what has been seen up until now. This topic relates to Encounter because of the exploration of what is beyond us. We never know when we will encounter another planet that can support life. As stated in my thesis statement, useful objects in space is a new way for finding new things to help humans live farther... I mainly used this part of my thesis as evidence to back up Encounter, because when most people think of space, the first thing that comes to their mind is not encounter. Lastly, my topic relates to Exchange because everyone that works in the field of space exploration or space engineering knows that the United States of America is not the only nation in the world that is exploring space. The Hubble telescope was built by the United States, but there are thousands of other satellites that were not. We exchange findings from Hubble and other space telescopes with other countries in the world. This is how my topic relates to the NHD theme.
