To Whom it May Concer:
As the principal at Bluff View Elementary in Lake City, MN, I have supervised Ms. Amanda
Durand in a multitude of leadership roles within the schoo! district in the last three years. Amanda
was hired as the School Aged Childcare program. She is the Tiger Time Coordinator that has
over 15 employees and 75 students. She is currently doing a fantastic job coordinating a school
aged childcare program, while continuing her education to be a licensed Community Education
Director. She is an active part of several committees within the district. | observed her work on a
‘community group to get an operating levy renewed for the entire district. Amanda was very
insightful, hard working and creative in her coordinating duties, as well. | often hear staff and
parents say how wonderful she is as a leader in our school. She is the type of school leader that
everyone wants on their team.
‘Amanda has excellent coordination skills and strong work ethics are evidenced in her serious and
professional approach toward teaching and learning. She has gained additional leadership
‘experience by continuing to attend various staff development sessions and then returning to the
‘school to share her new knowledge with her those that she supervises in her SACC program. |
would consider Amanda a life-long learner and a dedicated professional in every sense of the
word. She has initiative, is dependable, prompt, and able to communicate clearly both verbally
and in written work. Flexibility and working cooperatively with others to develop plans and
complete projects are some of Amanda's strengths,
‘Asa SACC coordinator, Amanda demonstrates a thorough knowledge of youth programs as well
as parent communication. Amanda has a strong desire to lead and influence staff and students in
a positive way and is a strong advocate of student-centered learning. Her enthusiasm for learning
new things is very apparent and this has served her well in her current position.
Amanda is very goal-oriented and | believe her potential for advanced education and leadership in
the Community Education profession is excellent. She is a reflective employee and is able to
evaluate herself and her staff. She then incorporates the necessary changes into her future plans.
| would highly recommend Amanda for any leadership position that she might apply for in your
district,
Sincerely,
Jim Borgschatz
