Dear Parents,
The state recognizes the youths role in nation-building. Thus, RA 9163 or the National Service Training
Program Act envisions to promote civic consciousness among the youth and the development of
their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social well-being by inculcating in them patriotism and
nationalism and advancing their involvement in public and civic affairs.
Under NSTPs direct supervision, the Civic Welfare Training Service or CWTS program component
provides students with an opportunity to contribute in the improvement of the general welfare and
quality of life of local communities in need by implementing relevant projects especially those
devoted to improving health, education, environment, safety, recreation, social services and morals
of the citizenry.
As a course requirement in CWTS 2, all students enrolled under the component are required to design
and implement within the 54hours duration of the course community-based projects or programs that
would suit to their identified community given its needs, its size, its people and the students available
resources for the project. When we say community we refer to a geographical area such as
barangay, a cluster of barangays, or any location that is smaller than a municipality or city whose
people share commonality; or sector meaning a group of people bound together either formally as
an organization, by common bonds, vocations or interests.
After visiting their prospective community for their project and determining its need which they can
work on, your son/daughters class agreed on implementing their project entitled HygieNuEs:
Kalinisan, Kalusugan at Tamang Kaugalian para sa Kabataan.
The project aims to promote good values, cleanliness and proper food intake among the young on
January 20 and 27 and February 17 and 24, 2016, Wednesdays from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Since this is a
project initiated by the students themselves, expenses that will be incurred by the project will be
covered by them. All available means of making the project at its lowest possible cost without
sacrificing its benefit were exhausted by the students. It was agreed that all members will contribute
Php 125.00 each for the entire duration of the project excluding transportation.
During the entirety of your son/daughters project implementation he/she will be accompanied by
his/her instructor Ms. Loreta M. Estacio.
In this regard, may we request you to read and sign the attached Letter of Consent to indicate that
you fully understand the requirements of community project implementation and that you are
allowing your son/daughter to take part in the projects entire process not only to satisfy the course
requirement but to gain ideas in conducting community project, gain understanding of what life is
outside your home and outside his/her school, appreciate his/her blessedness and inspire him/her to
become a better son/daughter, a diligent student and a truly responsible Filipino.
Should you have questions, please dont hesitate to communicate your concerns and feedback to
us.
Thank you very much.

Respectfully yours,

JANET B. DELA CRUZ
