Each of these tools is part of a menu from which districts can choose to implement. The table includes the primary claims made by each aligned assessment’. A claim is a statement about what the instrument can be used for, or the appropriate use of the results. Each tool was given a rating of strong (claim was substantiated with more than one source of evidence), moderate (claim was substantiated with one source of acceptable evidence) and weak (claim was not substantiated with evidence)’.
