PART-A

1. When is sampling inspection preferred over cent percent inspection. ?
2. Differentiate between PERT and CPM.
3. Mention the salient factors to be considered for preparing capital budget in
any manufacturing industry.

PART-B
(7 x 2 = 14 Marks)
4(a) Explain the Double Sampling Plan by means of a flowchart.
(b) Draw C chart for the following data pertaining to the number of foreign
threads (considered as defects) in 15 pieces of cloth. Plot the values and draw
inferences.

(b) Processing data availability of resources and profit margin for two
products: A and B are given below:

(i) Create a set of linear equations to describe the objective function and
constraints
(ii) Use graphical method to find the Optimal production solution.

(b) The direct material cost, the direct labour cost in a manufacturing industry
was Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively. While the indirect material cost and
the indirect labour cost was Rs. 30,000 and Rs.The10,000 respectively. The
selling Oncost was 10% of prime cost. Calculate the Total Cost of production.
