Thank you for considering a speaker about Muslims for your congregation or

organization. Each guest speakers talks for about an hour followed by a Q&A.

Dr. Mohamad Rajabally


Dr. Mohamad Rajabally is a long-time community activist, lay speaker for Friday
sermons at mosques across the Bay Area, and an active leader with two national
groups that represent Muslim-Americans. As an advocate for the poor and
vulnerable, he has founded a domestic violence shelter in the South Bay and
serves as a Board Member for the Tri-Cities Homeless Coalition (now called
Abode). For the past decade, he also served as a Human Relations Commissioner
for City of Fremont. As a religious leader, Dr. Rajabally has served since 2000 as a
volunteer Muslim chaplain at Washington Hospital. He is a past president of the
Islamic Society of East Bay in Fremont, which is one of the Bay Areas largest
mosques. Dr. Rajabally operates a dental practice in Newark along with his wife.

Hina Mukhtar
Hina Khan-Mukhtar is a mother of three boys and one of the founders of a
homeschooling co-operative in Lafayette, CA, which now serves over 35
homeschooling families in the East Bay. In addition to teaching Language Arts to
elementary, middle school, and high school students, she is also involved in
interfaith dialogue. Hina is a monthly contributor to The Muslim Observer's
"Raising Our Ummah" column and also writes for Seeker's Hub where she shares
parenting advice and ideas for nurturing spiritual traditions in childhood.

Rami Elkinawy
Rami is an Executive Committee member for the Bay Area Chapter of the Council on
Islamic American Relations (CAIR), which works to counter misrepresentations of Islam
and Muslim-Americans through education and advocacy. He also coaches a basketball
team, teaches Islamic studies, and manages a weekend Islamic school at Santa Claras
Muslim Community Center, the largest masjid in Bay Area. Rami works in the financial
and technology fields. He lives in East Bay along with his wife and two daughters.

Your Muslim Neighbor Panel


This insightful panel of six observant Muslims from the East Bay will provide your
venue with a varied and broad understanding of Islam and the American-Muslim
experience. Each panelist weaves his or her own personal narrative to explain how Islam
has unfogged or provided inner meaning to their lives. Topics include:
1. Islam 101": Basic Tenets of the Islamic Faith (Dr. Asad Tarsin)
2. Addressing Common Misconceptions (Hina Mukhtar)
3. "Why Im a Better American After Islam" (Sara Kim)
4. Conversion Story of an American Naval Officer (Mike Kim)
5. Addressing the Elephant in the Room "What do Muslims think about ISIS?"

6. The Universal Teachings of Islam (Arzina Ali)
