Brief Summary of The Book of Joel

Joel meaning “Jehovah is God” was a prophet in Judah, most likely the one
of the earliest of the writing prophets. Joel speaks much of the coming “day of the
Lord.” (1:15) and God’s judgment on the nations, looking far ahead to the end
times.

Peter (Acts 2:16-21) cites (2:28-32), saying that Joel’s prophecy had been
fulfilled in the pouring out of the Hoy Spirit upon the early church.
