Use/relationship:
The CMP describes the organizational structure of the configuration management
organization; the procedures for identifying and documenting the functional and physical
characteristics of hardware and software configuration items; controlling changes to those
characteristics; and recording and reporting change processing implementation status.
The Configuration Management Plan shall be limited to the contractor's efforts to
implement the configuration management as specified in the contract or request for
proposal.
The Configuration Management Plan is closely related to and shall be harmonious with
other program plans such as the System Engineering Management Plan, Quality Program
Plans, Data Management Plans, etc.
Requirements:
FORMAT AND CONTENT. The Configuration Management Plan shall be prepared in
accordance with Appendix I, Configuration Management Plan, to FAA-STD-021.
