Big Buddy Program is a Capital Area United Way Partner Agency.
The mission of the Big Buddy Program is to provide positive role models and learning experiences to children
who lack access to valuable resources in our community. The Big Buddy Program is a
legitimate federally certified 501(c)(3) organization. Any donations given are tax deductible to the fullest
extent of the law.

Greetings!
Please join us as the Big Buddy Program holds the 17th Annual Day of the Mentor, Friday,
October 23, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We hope you and your employees will take part
in this worthwhile event and make it the biggest and best Day of the Mentor yet!
Day of the Mentor was established in 1998 to bring awareness to the service of mentoring and to
motivate members of our community to get involved and make a difference in the life of a child.
This rewarding event matches individuals in the community with youth who would benefit from
establishing a relationship with a caring adult. The day begins with breakfast, followed by a visit
to the Mentors workplace, and concludes with a luncheon.
We have enclosed a Mentor application for your employees who are interested in participating in
this years event. Please complete the application and return it to us by October 9, 2015. Please
note: Mentors for the day are responsible for transporting the Mentee from the event site to
your workplace and back to the event site. A valid drivers license and proof of car insurance will
be required as a condition of participation.
We hope you will accept our invitation to join us Friday, October 23, 2015 for the 17th Annual
Day of the Mentor. By working together, we can eliminate poverty, crime and ensure that
under-supported youth achieve academically.

9:30-12:00 pm...Mentor Workplace Visits
12:00-1:30 pm....Day of the Mentor Luncheon

special recognition, closing remarks, Little Buddies say goodbye.
