2. The purpose of this lesson is to connect all of the components of
unit 1.2 (vocabulary, grammar) with the different productive
(speaking, writing) and receptive (listening, reading) skills that it
takes to become more proficient in a language.
3. Independent work
4. Differentiated Product
5. Learner Elements: Readiness, Interest, Learning Profile
6. As a result of this lesson, I hope my students will:
a. Know all words in Spanish have a gender and that
describing words must match/agree with the words they
describe.
b. Understand the difference between masculine and
feminine words, singular and plural words.
c. Be able to write sentences describing others and speak
sentences describing themselves and identify articles in
sentences.
7. I will pre-assess my students in their knowledge of grammar
terms. They will be unable to understand Spanish articles and
nouns agreeing with adjectives in Spanish if they do not know
what articles, nouns, and/or adjectives are.
8. I will use tiering and multiple intelligences to differentiate the
review. Students will get to choose from a variety of activities
ranging in difficulty (multiple choice to fill in the blank to writing
sentences to connecting new knowledge to previous knowledge)
and in what the activities consist of (speaking, writing, reading,
listening; group work vs. individual work). Students will be able
to choose less difficult activities if they are struggling to
understand the concepts presented in class or more challenging
activities if they need them. Students will also be able to work
with the information in the way(s) with which they feel most
comfortable.
9. Resources/Refernces
a. I will use the class textbook and work book to accumulate
the materials.
b. Students will use their class textbook, notes from class,
and instructional videos containing my class lectures as
necessary.
