ePortfolio Midterm Reflection
With half of the semester completed, I faced a few challenges learning here in college.
This semester I am currently taking four classes; however, there is one problem that I encounter
which is procrastination. The most valuable thing Ive learned so far is that time management is
key. In my classes, I have fair professors and they are there to help me learn.
One least successful assignment where I felt discouraged is when I received a D on my
mathematics test. It was the second test that we took, but the first one was easier, but when it
came to the second exam, I choked. The part that made me feel discouraged was that on test day,
I was not confident, even though I studied for a fair amount of time, I still scored low. Another
part was that I did not consider on going to tutoring, because I felt that I could do it. Turns out
that I couldnt so now Im at tutoring.
Secondly, I am most proud of the paper English as a First Language literacy narrative I
wrote in my English class. This assignment let me reflect on the positive and negative
experiences Ive had with literacy. It tells a story how I was placed in ESL class in middle
school, but with my diligence I became proficient my last year of middle school. Not only did I
receive a good grade, it inspired me to continue to succeed in my English course because
language is a very important component of college, and the world. The first half of this semester
I attended my professors office hours, and this helped me write my papers. Without this help, I
would of performed poorly.
