Fall Concert
I believe that starting off with a unison
piece is a way for students to start
working together as one and listening to
one another. This piece is fun and
exciting which also engages the
students.
Fall Concert
This beautiful song in 3 parts will get
students comfortable with singing in
sections, representing their own voice in
the ensemble and working together as
one on an English text they can relate
to. There are elements of fantasy and
fairytale that are fun to talk and dream
about.
Fall Concert
First song in Latin is only 2 parts but
students will need time to work on the
language.
Fall Concert
English text, majority of song in unison.
Fall Concert
This fun song is an exciting addition to
the concert, though it is in 3 parts, the
majority is in unison and is quite catchy
and short, making it a nice choice to
learn last out of the rest of the
repertoire.
Winter/Holiday Concert
Very challenging piece but impressive
so I want to give students enough time
to learn it for the holiday concert,
exciting and engaging piece to start the
new quarter with. Want students to be
familiar with piece so I can audition solo
and small group for beginning of piece.
Winter/Holiday Concert
English text isnt necessary difficult but
the percussive diction may need time to
learn. Soprano melody is familiar but
alto harmony is new and difficult.
Winter/Holiday Concert
Once students begin to feel comfortable

in order

learning the Latin of Gaudete, I am able

to introduce this piece now Hebrew text
so they feel comfortable with this text.
Winter/Holiday Concert
Mostly unison, 2 part in a round. Text is
English and then last 1/3 of text is on
loo
Winter/Holiday Concert
Large Group Festival
Largest Divisi-4 part of the whole year.
Beautiful piece that I hope will be
meaningful to students when singing a
capella with close chords.
Large Group Festival
Exciting piece but also has technical
challenges
Large Group Festival
Students will need time to feel confident
on the meter changes and ascending
lines
Large Group Festival
Repetitive English text in two part.
Majority in Unison. Simplistic text
written by a 13 year old.
Spring Concert
Exciting piece to start off the quarter
with. Once learned, we can begin
auditioning the 4 solos and learning
choreography for this piece.
Spring Concert
Students need time to learn the
Hawaiian language and if anyone is
interested in the ukulele part they have
time to learn it.
Spring Concert
Learned with Hamba Lulu. This song is
more exciting and percussive so I will
teach it first to get students excited
about learning a new language and
culture. Some movement added.
Spring Concert
Second Zulu song, this one is more
legato and elegant, has a solo that will
need to audition. Some movement
added.
Spring Concert

Koepke

20 Siyahamba arr. Doreen Rao

SSA

This exciting piece is in English which

poses less challenges with language.
Its engaging and exciting. Students will
need time to learn the 3 parts however
the majority of the piece is sung in
unison.
Spring Concert
This song may have movement but they
catch on quick, especially if taught by
rote. Again in Zulu so students are a bit
familiar with the language though the
text is completely new.
