Dear Faculty and Staff,

I hope that these summer weeks have been, and continue to be, a time of rest and renewal for you.
On campus, our days have been filled with planning meetings, summer school, athletic camps, construction, and time for
projects, too.... Maura, Erin, Becky, and I spent much of June reading and discussing teacher portfolios. We were all
reminded, yet again, of the talents and dedication of our colleagues and of the many gifts we are blessed by in our
school community.
As we prepare to welcome the class of 2019, I cannot help but think of the hopes and dreams they will bring with them
as they arrive for Freshman Orientation on Thursday, August 13. Their years here promise to be incredibly formative,
and we all share a great responsibility for helping them and their older peers from the Classes of 2018, 2017, and 2016
grow into men and women of "conscience and compassion," who are grounded in a strong faith. These young men and
women, as well as their parents, are placing a great deal of trust in each of us. It is a heavy responsibility, and we are
blessed to carry it together.
I look forward to seeing you all in August to begin what I hope will be a good and fruitful year for all. We will discuss
business, enjoy some fellowship, and take time out for prayer as we prepare ourselves for the year ahead.
