Dissolved Oxygen Lab

Experiment

In this lab, we used six bottles of pond water. We covered them with varying amounts of
screens all the way from zero percent light up to one hundred percent light. The bottles sat for
twenty four hours. Final and initial dissolved oxygen levels were recorded in order to determine
the gross and the net primary productivity. The independent variables were the percent light,
salinity level, and temperature. The temperature was also a control due to the room being climate
controlled. The dependent variable was the dissolved oxygen level. The constants were dissolved
oxygen kits, salinity, and temperature.
