Construction Management

The article, The Project Change Deal With It, published on March
25th, 2008, and written by Chris Hanvey, a senior consultant with Interface
Consulting International, stated that every construction project depends of its
size, and it is always considered the fact that the change can be made any
time in the project that we are working with. The authors purpose is to
inform the audience that construction management project might not be for
everybody. Mr. Hanvey illustrates his ideas by providing step-by-step
process. The purpose is to explain how the authors language and style are
used to persuade the construction management apprentices
The occasion that give rise to the need for persuasion is the fact that a
construction project manager set up the estimates; the budgets; estimated the
time that the project can be done for the client; and develops the construction
strategy. He select the subcontractor, and workers, and provides required
explanation for the professionals associated with the project, by
coordinating and collaborating with the architects, engineers, and specialists.
Construction managers also ensures the contractor or contract projection
complies with all building codes and any others legal requirements. The

historical occasion that would give rise to the composition of the text is the
fact that in construction change can be made any time during the project.
The project manager is the one who has to deal with any change that would
be making. When the changes have been made, he must follow things by
orders such as notice provisions; timing; structure of the change order;
information required to support the change order; and finally acceptable
pricing for the change. For instance Mr. Hanvey gives a change order pricing
methodology such as sum price, unit rates, or a time, and materials are the
basic. Mr Harvey, experienced consultant in construction management and
recognized in the industry, provide explanation to his proposal by using a
step-by-step process for a project construction and he comes across as a
knowledgeable person who knows exactly what he is talking about. There is
no much publication records about the author, but his ideas were worth
publishing and important to contractors.
The intention in writing is to attack and informed the readers that in
construction change can occur any time and shows us how to overcome the
change in the project. Certain actions are to exhort and to praise the readers,
and finally his main intention is to teach us how to deal with change when it
comes into a project, how to proceed when the change is up. The intended
audience may be professionals in construction management that are

interested to read his article. The value that the audience holds that the
author appeal to is the knowledge in construction management and when a
changes come up in it. The secondary audience is a read who has to read this
article and he is not interested of being in the construction field. I do not
think that this is a work of fiction. Apparently the message is Construction
management or project management is one of the most important people on
the job sit. He recommends to follow orders closely that have been giving
by the contractor or the client. It is his job to make sure that in the end of the
project, the client is satisfied with the job that has been done. It is really
important to understand and follow the contract, He consistently monitor the
project status the problem and be aware of the potential area of change; he
must deal with the change and follow the procedure to solve or fix the
change. Another fact that he must consider is that as soon as the change is
recognized, it should be documented in writing. It is properly important to
ensure that all communication are documented and all verbal agreement or
instructions are later confirmed on writing. There are no topic of inventions
employed, the author appeal to the reason by the fact that his topic stated
Project Change Deal With It, is the truth that each project in construction
change always come up, and we must learn how to deal with it, change can
be minor or major, it depends of the size of the project. The structure of the

communication is the lien that the person who is interested in construction


want to know about it, the fact that it is really informative. The style and
tone are both formals, the purpose of the author is to informed the audience
that change can be made in any construction project and the procedure to
deal with it. The form complement the content, the effect that the form could
have is to help the author to persuade his audience or to inform his audience.
The authors intention is to persuade the audience to approach a
project with careful step-by-step procedures to avoid failures, waist or
resources and money. The value that the people would have to produce this
is the knowledge that they wanted to have in case that a change comes to
construction project and how to deal with the change.
