PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Provides leadership for organizational development within Libraries & Educational Technologies
(LET).
o
Participates in governance of LET through active membership within LET Deans Executive Council,
LET Management Council, the Administration team, and the Librarian Faculty Assembly.
Serves as one of two School of Media Arts and Design (SMAD) co-liaison librarians.
o
Provides instruction and advanced reference assistance for students and faculty within the
department. Teaches an average of 300 students per year as guest lecturer in class sessions.
Collaborates with SMAD co-liaison to ensure that library collections and services meet the
needs of students and faculty in the liaison department.
Provided leadership and management for a highly productive and dynamic department managing
technology to meet the needs of JMU students, faculty, and staff.

Provided leadership and support for technology issues within Libraries & Educational
Technologies.
Provided project management for major projects including JMU Libraries public
website redesigns, a room scheduling application (Book a Group Study), a citation
help application (CheckCite), and an organizational intranet using SharePoint.
Directly supervised one librarian faculty member, three administrative faculty members, and
one part-time technology professional. Indirectly supervised seven additional technology,
design, and statistical analysis professionals.
Served as liaison librarian to the School of Media Arts and Design (SMAD).

Provided instruction and advanced reference assistance for students and faculty.
Managed library collection in support of Media Arts & Design including serials reviews,
database evaluations, and monograph selection (2004 to 2011).
Collaborated with SMAD co-liaison to ensure that library collections and services meet the
needs of students and faculty in the liaison department. (2011-2014).
Provided oversight for faculty and staff with responsibilities for scholarly content interfaces (2008 to
2011), electronic resources (2004 to 2008), and email reference (2004 to 2008).
Served as liaison librarian for the School of Communication Studies (SCOM) and for the School of
Media Arts and Design (SMAD).

Provided instruction and advanced reference assistance for students and faculty. Taught an
average of 21 class sessions per year.
Managed library collections in support of SCOM and SMAD including serials reviews,
database evaluations, and monograph selection.
Coordinated evaluation, selection, management, and training for bibliographic database subscriptions.
