Todaywasgreatoverall.Ouractivitykeptthestudentsengagedwell.Theyenjoyeddrawinganartworkfromtheexhibitionasagroupandthen
writingtheirownstoriesaboutthatartwork.Whenwegotbacktotheclassroom,theydidagoodjobofstayingfocusedanddiscussingtheirgroup
activityquestionswithindoorvoices.Theywereengagedandcameupwithlotsofgreatideasabouthowtheartistcreatedtheworkandwhythey
chosetoportrayitinthatway.Ithelpedthatwedesignatedthegroupsaheadoftimeandrequiredeachgrouptochooseoneartworkfromadifferent
classthaneachother.Also,Ithinkthesurveyaboutourteachingandtheiroverallexperiencewasagreatidea.Weaskedthemtoanswerthe
following:

Itwasbeneficialtogetfeedbackfromthem(eventhoughalotofitwasgenericnicecomments).Anotherthingsthatworkedwellwasaskingif
anyonewantedtovolunteertohelpustakedowntheartexhibitionduringrecess.Wechosethefirstthreevolunteersandtheyhelpedaton!

Whatdidn'tworkwellforthisartexperience?Why?
Thestudentsweredefinitelycrazyandfullofenergy.Partofthatseemedtostemfromthefactthatitwasourlastdayofart,aswellastheunusual
experienceofgoingtotheexhibitionwithabunchofotherpeople.AlsowehadalittleunexpectedtroublewithgettingourGoogleFormssurveylink
toworkonthestudents'laptops.Theotherminorissuewasthatsomegroupswerearguingaboutwhichartworktheywantedtodotheiractivity
about.Inacoupleofcases,wehadtochooseanartworkforthembecausetheycouldn'tagreeonone.

Whatwouldyoudodifferently?Why?
Wecouldmakeadifferentbackupplanforourteacher/classevaluationsurvey(likeprintingouthardcopies),becauseyouneverknowwhatsortof
technologicaldifficultiesmighthappenintheclassroom.Also,wecouldmakeitmoreclearbeforehandthatthestudentsneededtoallagreeonthe
sameartworktodraw,becausesomeoftheargumentsstemmedfromadesiretoeachdrawtheirfavoritepiece,whichusuallywasn'tthesameone.
