Double Number
As I said before, I didnt have able to prepare and teach 10 lessons, because MST gave me
a mission just to take care of the Low Level students. But I was preparing lesson plans for lessons
that she taught different from MST plan. That I would to teach if future if I have the lesson.
If I were the MST, I would began the lesson with reviewing rules and rewarding with
discipline system for them. to engage them, I would play a video song of double the number,
that will show them numbers from 1-10 doubling it by adding them together, with fun rhythm.
After that, I planned to return them to their groups, where they will find one box of
Domino game. They have to look for pieces that have same number in the both sides, then
organize them in order from 1-6 on the table obviously. After checking them, I will draw on the
board items in two groups with same number, then write the number of these items under the
group circle, then put the addition sign to do the addition problem. I will count with the kids all
the items to reach to whole number, which is the sum from doubling the number.
I will let the kids do it on the board, by choosing some of them randomly. The other kids
should be on the floor, and count with their chosen friend. They will be already know the Equal
Groups from the previous lesson, so they will be familiar with the activities.
For checking their understanding, they will have a worksheet, contain Dominos, one side
has a number and the other side will empty, and there will be the sum number already given, so
they just have to complete the given domino number to reach to the sum number, this activity is
addition, and can be subtraction at the same time. Look below for the example:
