Students will demonstrate rhythm by doing a free write about the ocean.
Students will write a short poem about the ocean and illustrate a picture
Objectives:
Materials:
Pencil
Crayons
Paper
Procedure:
First, the teacher will pass out the paper to the students. If there is a
helper for the day then she/he will help the teacher.
Then, the teacher will ask the students to write everything that they
their poem.
Students are to create a short poem about the ocean based on what they
know.
Next, the students are to illustrate by drawing a picture to each verse in
the poem.
After students are finished writing and illustrating their poem, the

their poems and illustrating pictures that go along with the verses.
Assessment will also be completed when the students are presenting
their short poems about the ocean, to the class. (Each student is
responsible for the pictures that go along with the end of each line.)

Bodily/Kinesthetic- writing with a pen and paper
Interpersonal- group and class work, brainstorming to understand about
the ocean.
