To whom it may concern to,

Im writing this letter so you can not only see my work and see how i have progressed
through out my first semester in my english class but i am writing this to tell you how ive
progressed as not only as an english writer but as a person as well. Being part of this english
113A class was a great experience.
Id like to start off by talking about my past. When i was in high school i was an AP
english student however this doesnt mean i was great at writing because i was i struggled both
years of AP english but what helped me through was my dedication and my ambition to succeed
in those class when there was an opportunity to improve my writing such as tutoring i would be
the first to be there. towards the end of my junior year i remember clearly how my professor
taught us pathos,ethos and logos and had us apply these concepts into our essays and in real
life.
Moving forward when i attended my english class at csun with professor lewis i was able
to use what i was taught in high school throughout her class. I recall her presenting
ethos,pathos and logos to us and i remembered participating in her lesson i was able to
remember everything and when we did our essays for her class i was exciting because i learned
more about ethos pathos and logos as well as uses these concepts in our debate in her
classroom which my peers and I fairly won. How ever when professor lewis started leading us
into the direction of writing our first essay it was very challenging at first i was just writing just to
write i never payed much attention i thought was i was writing made sense. until professor lewis
had us review our own paper and had our peers review our paper and she then took her time to
look our our papers.
however the essay i had more difficulty on was my social media essay it was hard to use
blogs,tweets,website and apply them into my essay but with the help of professor lewis i was
able to create an essay i had fun with as well as i was interesting in to the essay learning about

the negative and positive effects that social media has done to our society and i came to a
conclusion that social media has done an amazing job bringing families and friends back
together.
overall being part of this amazing class and being able to be taught by a great professor
really made me a different person 8 am class wasnt easy apart from that i would commute from
hollywood as well as i had soccer practice for the csun team at 6 am everyday meaning i would
wake up at 5 to get to class early and leave practice a bit early to get to professor lewis class
and become a great writer that i am do although im not as great as other one day i will be.
