Description
(The subject or focus of the project)

Wire (Color and

Aluminum){Hard
Medium, and
Soft} , ruler, and
wire cutters

My sculpture is inspired by nature. I will be

making a realistic tree sculpture out of wire. I
want the sculpture to be about 1 foot tall by 4
inches long by 4 inches wide. The trunk of
the tree is aluminum wire that is about a 3
coil consisting of multiple wires. The tree will
have symmetrical and radial balance, and the
addition of birds in the tree will create
emphasis by use of color- a brown nest and
red birds.

Plaster, Water,
Vaseline, Sport
Ball, Paint,
scissors, and
ruler.

Due Date

11-6-15

12-4-15

My Sculpture is inspired by sports and

athletics. I will be making a sphere which will
be painted to show both a basketball and
soccer ball. I will divide the sphere in
quarters to make a sculpture that will be hung
as a wall decoration. I want the sculpture to
have a 9 inches circumference inches wide by

4 inches long. The bases of my sculpture will

be formed over an actual soccer ball that I will
use as my guide to get the correct
measurements and roundness of the form.
The sculptures will have symmetrical balance.
I will be using colors of paint to represent the
two different sports: the basketball will use
black and orange, and the soccer ball will use
black and white. Texture will be used with
regular rhythm showing the bumpiness on the
spheres surface.

My inspiration for this project is to make a

functional bowl representing a castle. This will
be a clay bowl. I want the sculpture to be
about 6 inches wide, by 4 inches tall, by 6
inches long. The base of the sculpture will be
made from coiled clay blended together. The
rest of the bowl will be coils built up from the
bottom forming a bowl. The bowl will have
symmetrical balance. Patterns will be carved
into the surface using lines and textures. The
bowl will be painted with the colors green,
purple, and silver. The line and shape of the
clay shows pattern because the coils of clay
are repeatedly added onto the bowl. One after
the next after the next.

the kiln

My inspiration for this project is to make a

sculpture in the shape of a realistic looking
sea turtle on a stand. This turtle will be made
out of clay. I want the sculpture to be about 3
inches wide, by 4 inches long, by 4 inches tall.
The body and stand of the turtle will be made
out of clay slabs and coils that have been
blended together. The turtle will have an
organic shape and form, with an asymmetrical
balance with help from the coral in the base of
the sculpture that provides positive and
negative space in the artwork. Patterns on
the turtles shell will be carved into the surface
using lines. The turtle will be glazed with the
colors blue/teal and black to gold, and the
stand will be glazed with the color gloss blue.

12-8-15
