America: The dream country of the Hispanic Women.

Hispanic/ Latino community come to America to have a better future and many of them sacrifice their family and
believes. The majority of these persons who come to the other side are males, but there are also females who come
for the pursuit of a better life, to raise their children in a country were the poverty is not as bad as their home country.
Imagine coming from a country were all your rights and privileges are not valued and were women are not treated
with the respect they deserve, were the only jobs that you can get is to do something that you do not want to do
because you will feel ashamed, were you might not have something to eat, and were you cannot aspire for a better
future because everywhere you look you see the same thing, poverty. Many of these women make the choice of
moving to another country were they come with an idea that they will no longer suffer for the same things that made
them suffer at home. Today, the female population in the United States is of 16.4 percent. These Latina women
make disproportionally less than male and non- Hispanic white counterparts. These disparities are leaving a growing
portion of our population more vulnerable to poverty and its implications. Based in the webpage of Center for
American Progress, the Latina women make only 55 cents to the dollar when compared to whites, non-Hispanic
males. Poverty rates for Latina women, at 27.9
percent, are close to
triple those of white women, at 10.8 percent. In
2012, the poverty
rate for Latina women overall was 27.9 percent,
compared with the
rate for non-Hispanic white women at 10.8
percent. These
numbers represent the reality that many women
are going through.
Poverty rates are increasing because as much as
anyone wants a
decent, good-payed job, the only thing that are
offered to most of
these persons are horrible, low-payed, sometimes
are not even hourpayed, there are payed for a day and for a
miserable income.
Stereotypes play a big role when the subject of
discrimination is
touched. Media is a factor of all the stereotypes that are about Hispanics and Latinos. In the media, Hispanics and
Latinos are portrayed as no one, the damaged race in civilization, which is the reason why other races look at them as
inferior. The majority of these stereotypes are bad, and advantages are taken. For the upcoming presidential
elections, Donald Trump, a candidate, had the nerve to public say that Hispanics and the Latinos come are rapist and
drug dealers among other horrifying things. The majority of these persons are hardworking persons that come to the
United States to have a better future, and the minority of these persons who make to America are women. Hard
working women who do not care waking up at 4 a.m. and coming home at 10p.m. so their children could have what
they were not able to have at some point of their lives. These are women who do not care that their hands will get
damaged, or the probability of catching an illness or in the worst case getting deported. These are the type of persons
who media does not talk about because they are more worried about getting ratings up with stories that will caught
peoples attention.
