Zodiac Signs and Personality
The astrological alignment occurring when people are born is how people are placed in
his/her zodiac sign. A persons zodiac sign can explain many occurrences in his/her lives
because it plays a role in creating a persons personality. Astrological alignment and zodiac signs
have been controversial as to whether or not he/she can affect someones personality; however
scientists have begun proving the connection to be true. The astrological alignment that occurs
when you are born determines which zodiac sign someone will be, this zodiac sign can be a key
determinant of what personality traits, love luck, and level of extroversion he/she will have.
On the topic of personality many people tend to believe it comes from where or how
he/she were raised. However it can also be affected by what zodiac sign you are. According to
Hume, Significant aspects of the personality can be predicted on the basis of the position of the
planets at the moment of birth. Many zodiac signs are characterized with general personalities
such as a Gemini being lively and witty, or an Aries being adventurous and confident, so
scientists put this theory to test. An experience clinician competent in astrology performed a
series of 632 tests to determine whether or not personality is affected by a persons zodiac sign.

These tests were given to multiple persons of each zodiac sign and asked questions on some of
the more common personality traits associated with each sign. The test was a series of selfratings, Acker and McReynolds (1966) and Harrison and McLaughlin (1969) suggest that selfratings can be regarded as a valuable procedure for personality assessment. In fact, self-ratings
frequently have been employed as a validity criterion for psychometric estimates of position on a
trait dimension (Hume 713). The test was considered valid by many psychiatrists and the
results were looked over to come to the conclusion that the generalized personalities for each
zodiac sign do in fact comply with the hypothesis that someones zodiac sign is a reflection on
his/her personality.
Some people may associate that his/her love luck is just a branch off of his/her
personality. However love luck is a separate factor determined by a persons zodiac sign.
Different zodiac signs have different levels of compatibility, some may be more compatible with
opposing signs and some may need to stick to his/her month. Contrary this is all measurable
data. Compatibility tests are performed between certain signs to determine whether love is based
on your sign, to validate, the descriptions, a number of investigators have examined the
relations between traits as measured by reliable and valid psychological tests and various
astrological signs (Clarke 132). The descriptions studies paired matches such as a Libra with a
Gemini and a Capricorn with a Scorpio, he/she base it on the stars alignment at the time of birth
and whether you are a positive or negative sign. The data supports that the matches put together
were compatible and had positive love luck. Matches were made between positives and
negatives, according to Hume, psychiatrists, adopted the strategy of comparing individuals who

were extreme in some personality characteristic with those who showed an average level of that
characteristic. It was reasoned that if astrological data can predict personality variables, then
some astrological dimensions should discriminate between those with the extreme characteristic
and those without it. This testing proves that love luck can be a factor determined by the
alignment of a persons zodiac sign.
Another factor determined by someones zodiac sign is his/her level of extroversion and
introversion. According to Carter, people born when astronomical bodies of the solar system
are in the positive signs of Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius are predisposed
toward extroversion, whereas those born when the bodies are in the negative signs of Taurus,
Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces tend toward introversion. Many tests were run
and the overall conclusion was that the finding Supports theories claiming that tendencies
toward extroversion and emotionality are determined by astrological signs (Clarke 131). The
basis of extroversion is how loud or outgoing you are, although people say this is shyness or a
phase and people will grow out of it, this is not the case. However some people may not be to
the extreme of his/her sign. Although your sign may consider you an extrovert you can still
have shy qualities, because just as every introvert isnt shy, every extrovert is not obnoxious.
The zodiac sign someone is given lines up a lot of personality traits for them, one of which is
introversion and extroversion, these traits are highly affected by the zodiac category he/she falls
into, which supports the theory that zodiac signs influence a persons personality.

and level of extroversion he/she will have. Many people say his/her personalities and
extroversion levels are determined by the way he/she is raised. On the other hand the zodiac sign
gifted to them at birth actually has a major impact on this. Astronomers have studied stars for
centuries but just recently have philosophers united with them to study the alignment of the stars
and his/her effect on people. The effect it creates controls a majority of someones life,
personality, love, and extroversion make someone the person he/she are. However zodiac signs
are overall what decide the kind of person someone will be.
