Revolting Revolution

Rwanda a beautiful country with lots of tourist destinations such as the Volcanoes
National Park, the Nyungwe Forest, Lake Kivu, and many more destinations. The hotels are a
great place to also spend your free time in; they have pools, restaurants, bars, and entertainment.
One hotel in particular the Hotel Des Mille Collins is an oasis a four star hotel with a lot to do, it
has a great pool, a delicious restaurant, and one thousand two hundred and sixty eight Rwandan
refugees. The film Hotel Rwanda is a dramatic biography that stars Don Cheadle playing Paul
Rusesabagina, the manager of the Milles Collins hotel which took in one thousand two hundred
and sixty eight Tutsi and Hutu refugees during the Rwandan genocide.
People during and after the genocide asked who to blame for the Rwandan genocide?
Was it the Hutus fault? Was it the Tutsis fault? Or was it everyones fault in general? The people
in general blame either the Tutsi or the Hutu but personally I feel it was the peoples fault in
general. Think of it this way what would have happened if the people would have stopped
separating themselves into either the Hutu or Tutsi group? The genocide would not happened if
the actual people would have stopped separating themselves into groups. It is understandable that
the segregation had been going on for many years, and that people were used to the same routine
of separating but the cycle has to be broken if not events like genocide, revolutions, and wars
occur. The Hutu and Tutsi soldiers are to blame also because there has to be soldiers for a
revolution to occur, but people also have to break the cycles that create hate between people.

The worlds role in the genocide was handled correct countries cannot and should not get
involved with other countries problems no matter how horrible and terrible the events may be.
When different countries get involved with other countries affairs events such economic
downfall, unnecessary casualties, and sometimes even world war can occur. For example if
Russia and the United States would have been gotten involved in the genocide one supporting
the Tutsis and the others supporting the Hutu, then maybe a world war between the United States
and Russia would have unfolded. Even though China and France played some role in the
genocide by supplying guns to the government it was a good idea that they did not get involved
military wise during the genocide. The world did a good deed by not getting involved that even
though felt wrong to some people it was good for the greater good.
Stopping the separation and classifying the people as either Hutu or Tutsi was the
only thing that could have stopped the genocide from occurring. There is a lesson to be learned
from the genocide which is people are not supposed to separate themselves like you are not
supposed to classify and nickname people as cracker, nigger, Chink, spick, Hutu and, Tutsi you
are supposed to treat people as what they truly are, a human being. Separating people like that is
horrible for society and the greater good it makes people not feel good enough, it makes them
angry, anger leads to violence among people, and when the violence is done with people of
different groups it leads to big conflict such as genocide. The lesson in all of this is just to treat a
person as a person.
