Friendship Forever
Hurtado 2
tried to do our homework together but the teacher placed us in
different groups otherwise we ended up
Playing or laughing out loud. I enjoyed when we helped each other
with our homework. I was good in Spanish and she was good in Math;
we made a fantastic team.
There is no middle school in my country; therefore, I went
straight from elementary to high school. Once I reached high school, I
realized how our friendship was growing and becoming more like a
sisterhood. We knew almost everything about each other; although,
there were many personal things that we never talked about, because
privacy was very important in our friendship. She was always there for
me even when I was in a bad mood. There were moments of sadness
or frustration in my life when I preferred to be alone and quiet; but she
was waiting for me to calm me down with a warm hug.
This is the reason I consider myself lucky. I have many delightful
stories to tell to my grandchildren (whenever I have them) to make
them believe in true friendship. To have a good friend for almost 35
years is easy to say, but it takes patience, empathy, respect and love
to keep a friend even on distance.
Lourdes and I are still best friends and we are in touch through
via cell phone, Whatsup, Facebook, Skype, etc. Whenever I go to Peru it
is like we were together all this time. A real friend like her is very

difficult to find; however, I can say that it is possible to have a beautiful
friendship forever.
