Introduction of Our Students


We had four, fun, 4th grade boys!
Bradley-Loves football
Andrew- Loves robotics
Elton-Hes involved in the news team and loves to read
chapter books.
But they have have the same targeted goal addressing this
standard:
AL. RL. 4.1: The learner will identify cause and effect
in a fictional passage.

Sharing the Ideas


Met to strategically plan out the things we wanted
to do.
We wanted to make sure that we were giving the
students every opportunity possible to meet their
needs.
Eventually we figured out which students would be
coming to morning intervention on specific days
and worked it out so that everyone was prepared
and no student got behind.

Challenges
Due to arrival of students, time was
limited.
Not having all three of the students
everyday.
Planning everything so that every
student was given the same

Proposed Solutions
Using different graphic organizers, cause and effect activities, and
discussion will allow us to continue building the students knowledge
of cause and effect.

Action Plan
Read The Day Jimmys Boa Ate the Wash by Trinka Hakes
Noble and identified the cause and effect of the story.
Watched a short film that addressed the issue of cause
and effect.
The boys loved it!

Given a set of cause and effect cards. Determined which


one was the cause and which effect went with it.
This led to a good conversation about the difference between
sequencing and cause and effect.
